I move to nominate Billings, Montana for the Convention area. Though I agree with Lincoln, Nebraska as a good city also. I Believe Billings, Montana provides a better perspective of the Federalist Party's libertarian roots, as well as a potential start for an all encompassing coalition to take the presidency back in June. I am good with both cities Cheesy

Just two nominations?

With no objections the error in the bylaws has been corrected.

Well, I don't want to lose more time on this.

Official Ballot:
[   ] Lincoln, Nebraska
[   ] Billings, Montana

This vote is for 72 hours as per the new bylaw.

Also, to avoid a reoccurence of last week, I authorize Vice Chair PiT to close this vote if he is on after time has expired and it is not yet been closed by me.

Yeah, I wish we had more nominations, but it's better than the 15 or whatever it was we had in our last convention city selection vote.

Official Ballot:
[1] Lincoln, Nebraska
[2] Billings, Montana

Since it appears likely that our number of At-Large Senate candidates will exceed 2 and possibly even 3, we must immediately move to change the bylaws so as to avoid the problem that Speaker ClarkKent faced in December where we had to run him as an Indy to bypass this. This one has to be dealt with quickly.

There is also a significant chance that there will be a primary for President in June. Presently, there are no bylaw provisions specifically dedicated to the Presidential endorsement. Such appears to have been amended out in mid 2013.

How about this:

Perhaps it's a tad simplistic, but I think it does it about right.

For the Presidential primary, I think a variation of section III, subsection 4 would get the job done. Perhaps a bit earlier than a week before, however.

Any suggestions on either one would be welcome, of course. These aren't meant as definitive solutions, but merely pushes in the right direction.

[Leinad Amendment]

3. Currently, a maximum of two four candidates may be endorsed for the senate at large. If the Federalist Party has more than this number of incumbent at-large senators seeking re-election, each of the incumbents may still receive the endorsement of the party. If, on the first Friday prior to the at-large election, the number of declared Federalist candidates is equal to or less than the maximum number of endorsements, no primary election shall be held and those candidates shall automatically receive the endorsement of the Federalist Party. Any Federalist candidates entering the race after this time shall not enjoy the party’s official endorsement. If, on the first Friday prior to the election, the number of declared Federalists is larger than the maximum number of Federalist endorsements, a primary election shall be held. The election shall run for three (3) days and shall be decided by public IRV. If the number of declared Federalist candidates is less than the maximum number of endorsements, non-Federalists may receive these remaining endorsements.[/quote]

Official Ballot:
[  ] Aye
[  ] Nay

This vote shall last for 48 hours.

I am going to go ahead and put this through to a vote since the election is creeping up on us.  I apologize for not updating the topic header, I could have sworn I did. Anyway. mor bylaw amendments will be necessary after this one, but this will at least solve our immediate problem to avoid a repeat of December's problem.
