I feel that there were so few Democratic candidates because many just assumed Clinton would get the nomination without a struggle. If Clinton hadn't run, which Democrats would be in the race?

Howard Dean, Al Franken, Cory Booker, Brian Schatz, Bill De Blasio, Gina Raimondo, and Kirsten Gillibrand all seem like likely choices to me.
