Read the article.  His girlfriend says she was quite impressed.  And I'd imagine most girls don't like it if you treat them well but not other girls.

You have got to admire what he did. Not only did he save up enough money to buy all of those flowers, but it must have been tedious to deliver them to all 800 or so girls in his school just so that they don't feel left out. It's a hard holiday for some people and it is torture for few, so the guy is making a difference.
