Well I'm back to Paris. Still awfully jet lagged. I've slept 3 hours in the past 35 hours.

Is this just a short vacation or a summer thing? Or permanent?

Just for the summer. I'll be back in LA mid September. I still have a minimum of 4 years (and possibly more like 5) left... unless I get deported for breaking campaign finance regulations, of course.

Sooo, I've got a lot of explaining to do. I'd like to apologize to everyone in Atlasia and to everyone I played with in the Sword of Damocles for my absence. I can promise you that this was a series of very good reasons, scouts honor. I have had a lot happen to me this summer already, namely that I have recently gotten a new job with the Southern Center for International Studies in Atlanta. Despite that I'm now living in Georgia, I will keep the Louisiana avatar. It's just better.

Also, I got engaged to my longtime girlfriend, Cleo, and we are now living together in Atlanta while continuing online studies with our school back in LA. We plan on getting hitched around this time next year. Again, sorry to everyone that was waiting for my posts and input in Atlasia and the Sword of Damocles. But, I can say that it is very good to be back.

A friend of mine is running for National Committeeman for the RNC, challenging a sitting incumbent. He barely won last time against a challenger who made no effort, so this should be fun. He's a young Paulite who I met through AFP and was one of our top volunteers.

Speaking of getting hitched next summer, I'm beginning to consider where me and my fiancee will be honeymooning.  I've got a tentative idea of the itinerary, and I'd like opinions of it.

Saturday afternoon wedding and reception followed by drive to Atlanta that evening.
Sunday fly from Atlanta to Albuquerque, (probably on Southwest since we should be able to lock in fairly cheap fares)
Sunday evening to Wednesday morning, take in Albuqerque and hopefully an Isotopes game if they are in town.
Wednesday afternoon, take the Southwest Chief from Albuquerque to Flagstaff, AZ.
Thursday and Friday One day will be a trip to the Grand Canyon and one day for generic sight seeing.
Friday night, take sleeping car berth on the Southwest Chief to Los Angeles, CA
Saturday afternoon fly LAX or BUR to ATL, spend night at hotel in Atlanta and then drive home.

Basically the high points are to be Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon and the train ride.  Might possibly trim a day from Albuquerque to get back a day sooner, but I'm not planning on using Los Angeles as anything other than a connection.
