Bookstores? I vaguely remember those. Nowadays, I run into books most often in antique shops.

It's somehow a cross between normal bookstore/antique store. Great place just feets away from my place.

Among those are:

The Napoleon of Notting Hill (G. K. Chesterton - a yuuge reactionary but a good writer)
Close to Home and Tragic Ground (Erskine Caldwell)
The Appeal (John Grisham)
White Teeth (Zadie Smith)
Audat ar-ruh (Tawfiq al-Hakim; I don't know what's the English title)
Ashenden: Or the British Agent (W. S. Maugham)
State of Fear (Michael Crichton)
Tyrant Banderas (Ramón del Valle-Inclán)

Some other titles I have no patience identyfing by English title, plus some biographies.

Got the order today from my boss to "fix" the accounting for one of our products to "up" the sales of this product (on paper).

I don't like the fact of false accounting at ALL, but he also got pressure from his regional supervisor to increase the "sales" of this certain product.

Hmmmm ...

Got my books, picked up my former roommate so he could retrieve his moped, went to Walmart, and later am going to help my best friend move into his new apartment. Busy day because college stuff.

I go looking for another job if I were you.  Even if you don't get caught, a business that is rigging the books typically doesn't last long.

Went to Carowinds today. Got free fries because there was a long wait while we were getting souvenier cups. Today was a good day.

Going to get my car back next weekend with a used motor. Hopefully this will end the nightmare that was Ocala '16.

You should refuse and report him if he tries to fire you (provided that Austrian labor law protects workers against this sort of abuse, which I have to assume it does).

I'm pretty sure even our labor laws in 'Murica prohibit that.

Not that easy. My co-workers and I have an extremely good relationship with my boss, he even paid us a stripper for 100€ once as we visited a strip-club during a company trip ...

Unlikely. The cheat is extremely effective and the revision is totally unlikely to find it in the books. And it's only for one product out of thousands.

I'm only saying this because I don't hate you: You are acting like a complete idiot, and you better get out now and/or remedy this. I can't believe you are going about such an immoral action that hurts people so casually - like nothing I've ever seen. I am going to assume any actions have not been undertaken, and I do not want to find out if there is follow through please.

Well, you know, it's only one time and one product, and as, as you say, there are unlikely to be any repercussions (and it'll probably raise your boss' opinion of you even higher), you might as well, to avoid hassle.

While visiting family in Washington, I visited my first two Pacific states, saw and swam in the Ocean for the first time, kayaked the Columbia, backpacked for the first time around 6,000 feet above sea level, and saw part of the UW campus in Seattle. I picked up a few books down the street from campus: "On Revolution" and "The Origins of Totalitarianism" by Hannah Arendt, and a compilation: "Uncertain Transition: Ethnographies of Change in the Postsocialist World". It sadly only comprises Eastern Europe (I can't seem to find anything on Central Asia).

Check out Islam After Communism: Religion and Politics in Central Asia by Adeeb Khalid. I got it as a textbook for a class, but ended up reading the whole thing because of how engaging it was. Another good text if you like reading case studies is Ethnographies of the State in Central Asia which is a compilation of a bunch of essays on the region and how states operate in Central Asia and how citizens relate to their countries.
