I was drunk the other day and I (in my drunk mind) "noticed" that Kentucky and Austria look similar in shape.

Discuss my drunken observations with maps.

Poland and Cambodia look like what happens when I try to make pancakes, omelets, crepes, etc.

XDDD.

Tonight, I went out to eat for my dad's birthday but my stomach started acting up and I got a rash (presumably from different sources). I almost threw up at least twice. We had to go home because I wasn't feeling well. Heck my life.

Hope you feel better!

This reminds me of this lol: http://www.mediaite.com/online/gop-strategist-rick-wilson-asks-coulter-if-trump-pays-for-anal/

Sooo, I've got a lot of explaining to do. I'd like to apologize to everyone in Atlasia and to everyone I played with in the Sword of Damocles for my absence. I can promise you that this was a series of very good reasons, scouts honor. I have had a lot happen to me this summer already, namely that I have recently gotten a new job with the Southern Center for International Studies in Atlanta. Despite that I'm now living in Georgia, I will keep the Louisiana avatar. It's just better.

Also, I got engaged to my longtime girlfriend, Cleo, and we are now living together in Atlanta while continuing online studies with our school back in LA. We plan on getting hitched around this time next year. Again, sorry to everyone that was waiting for my posts and input in Atlasia and the Sword of Damocles. But, I can say that it is very good to be back.

Mazel tov! And welcome back!

While visiting family in Washington, I visited my first two Pacific states, saw and swam in the Ocean for the first time, kayaked the Columbia, backpacked for the first time around 6,000 feet above sea level, and saw part of the UW campus in Seattle. I picked up a few books down the street from campus: "On Revolution" and "The Origins of Totalitarianism" by Hannah Arendt, and a compilation: "Uncertain Transition: Ethnographies of Change in the Postsocialist World". It sadly only comprises Eastern Europe (I can't seem to find anything on Central Asia).

Check out Islam After Communism: Religion and Politics in Central Asia by Adeeb Khalid. I got it as a textbook for a class, but ended up reading the whole thing because of how engaging it was. Another good text if you like reading case studies is Ethnographies of the State in Central Asia which is a compilation of a bunch of essays on the region and how states operate in Central Asia and how citizens relate to their countries.

I think I'll go check those out myself as well. I love learning and reading about Central Asia. Its one of the more interesting regions/depressing regions of the world but it never gets any publicity. I had a few friends from Uzbekistan who used to always tell me about life after communism but I fell out of touch the last few years w/ them Sad

However, I do tend to focus more on Transcaucasia than on Central Asia. I have more a vested personal interest in the former but I think both needed to be discussed more.

Currently engaged in the best Twitter war of my life. Ironically, with fellow Trump "supporters" (IE, interlopers) who are calling me a globalist zionist cuck.

Strange... If there were three things I was going to describe you as...
I mean, I do believe Israel has a right to exist so I guess that makes me a Zionist even though I'm very anti-settlement on the whole. Of course, Zionist to this guy is basically an insult.

Oh yeah, and while calling me a Zionist, he also called me anti-Israel. I kid you not.

And to top it off, he looks like Sebastian Bach on meth.

wat...lmao

The neo nazis on twitter stopped trolling me lately but i used to routinely be called a k**e.

My wife is pregnant. Did you know you can still be surprised at the news even if you are actively trying to have a baby?

congrats!

Happens to the best of us Cry

I just hate that there was not a solid rejection. Like, I can deal with rejection fairly easily. No need to be an ass ghost people - especially friends.

http://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-ghosting-2015-8

"...It's the act of ghosting: cutting off contact with them completely, ignoring their texts and their calls, and not providing an explanation for ending the relationship."

Doesn't have to be a relationship, either, could be as simple as bailing on a friendship (which is what happened to me).

Sorry to hear about that. I've been crushing majorly hard on my best friend for about a year now, and while she knows and all of our mutual friends agree that we act like a couple, she has consistently gone for one night stands with shallow boys, only to text me in the morning about how much she regretted doing it and "if only boys liked me" blah blah blah. Shit sucks.

That sucks.

For me, I don't really care anymore what happens. This person has toyed with me for a while and I've hit my breaking point. If this person wants to end a friendship because of non-existent nonsense, than so be it.
