Why would Canada join the European Union. This isn't a Socialist Union or Countries with Negative Growth Rate Union.

If turkey can join, why not canada?

1. they aren´t an european country.
2. they have not asked to be a member.

If Canada ever asked to be a member i´m sure they would get a lot a support from almost if not all european members states.

Neither is Turkey.

There some who have a different opinion
Plus the fools in the 60 promised turkey membership if they were ready. Of course they believed that Turkey would never become modern enough.

I doubt if Canada asked, anyone who support. That's why no one has bothered to ask.

Of course I wouldn't support it, but this is the same as asking "would you support your town taken over by zombies."

LOL Great analogy, although I probably would have said thieves instead of zombies.

But how would that interact with the existing free trade agreements with the U.S. (and Mexico, but mainly the U.S.)? Would joining the EU mean the breakup of NAFTA?

The whole reason why I want Canada to join the EU is to get out of NAFTA. NAFTA doesnt seem to be helping out with the softwood lumber dispute and your refusal to buy our beef.

And having t compete with scandinavian wood, that would be cheaper due to less transportation costs is better because...?

Well, we gotta trade with someone! When they run out of trees in Scandanavia, they will be wishing we were in the EU. Cheesy
I just dont like the idea of being so dependant on the U.S., trade wise.
