I'm gonna have to say Rubio. The media clearly adored and was in the tank for Obama, but at least he, you know, won stuff. Rubio is just a serial underperformer that has been continually propped up by the establishment and the media. I thought the GOP hated affirmative action?

Obama was EVERYWHERE.
This year, Trump is getting far more coverage than Rubio, as is Sanders.

Write-in for Donald Trump. What does the "liberal" media love more than big government and liberalism? Money. Ratings. And Trump consistently delivers both.

The vast majority of Trump coverage is negative though. I'm considering not just volume here, but content.

Obama easily.

The Rubio shilling is only there because he isn't trump.

Obama did get a lot of attention in 2008 for potentially being the first African American president,  and that was clearly positive.   Some of that was deserved though.

Rubio gets inflated a lot more than Obama did IMO though.   Where Obama had actual successes,  Rubio has been pretty flat and dull,  but his good looks gives him good camera time.

They may love him for the primary but they will turn on him in a heartbeat once he secures the nomination.

So if you're asking just for the primary, it is tossup to lean Rubio.
However if you're asking for the entire election in general, it'll be strongly Obama.

I'm not saying they're covering him positively, but I think privately they love the fact that he is doing what he is doing and how much money he is making them, and in return they are providing the coverage on which his campaign subsists. He knows what makes the media work and is manipulating them perfectly.

In other words, Trump is giving the media exactly what they want, and in return, they're giving him exactly what he wants, and probably raking in some huge profits in the process.
