Hanging out for a couple of lunches with angus I'd give him a very solid 8+.  Quite guy, yet animated enough, good sense of humor, good communicator.  He eats mayo on his fries so I knocked off a point for that.  Wink

That's the stuff.  I just had a tasty gulp the day before yesterday as I made myself a lightly toasted tuna and mozzarella sandwich on a crusty sourdough bâtard with onion, sliced jalapeño, tomato, and cucumber.

One of my co-workers called me "endearingly tactless", and my boss said my communication skills were better than he would have thought.

Overall, maybe about a 6.  I do fine with people in my social group, and I do well enough talking to strangers, but I have problems with the middle ground.  Small talk with casual acquaintances is not something I do very well.  (Not following sports is a definite detriment when it comes to small talk.)

Not sure if it's possible to give an unbiased answer here, but I'll say 4 - 6.5, and only because I don't think it's so simple that anyone can really put a single number to describe their social skills.


I dunno Simmy that's pretty low Sad. At that level I imagine you would have to not only be woefully incompatible with people but also insult/offend them constantly in the process of trying to socialize. You don't seem like that kind of person at all.

I think "low social skills" in the context of an Atlas poster would be more about shy-ness and difficulty with emotional connection rather than just insulting people.

Well I didn't mean even intentionally insulting, but some people can come off offensively or condescending without really even trying or knowing it.

4. I'm very introverted so I lack a lot of personal practice with others but there's a lot of extroverts in my family whose behavior I've managed to emulate fairly well. I'm a pretty sarcastic asshole at times though.

My appearance generally makes up for my social shortcomings.
