How is the IL/MI border issue being treated here? My understanding was that we can't start until there is clarification or agreement.

I cut it up into three roughly equal pieces. Two thirds are satellites/occupation armies, and the other third remains as disputed land.

Stmarken, may I suggest you post the map here to make sure it's satisfactory to people's claims?

No. It's hard to be so specific.

You guys know you can resize images, right? Tongue

It's so fuzzy I wouldn't be surprised to see bigfoot in one of the states, but hey, it's semi-readable!

Hey, JoMCaR, could some of us make additional states if we could do it in time? Because I have a nifty idea for one in real-life Georgia.

(Also, here's a suggestion, someone could take the blank area including Utah and make some Mormon-based state--perhaps called "Deseret." Or one in Oklahoma based on the Indian Territory. There are lots of cool possibilities taking into account history and such.)

If more players want to sign up, it might be fair if some of the larger states were divided.

True, true. A few of us took enormous slices of land--Cielona is maybe the 3rd-biggest, but around average by number of real-life states. (States are, as we all know, bigger out west because people got really tired of drawing all those damn borders on every single freaking map by the time they started settling out there. Tongue)

Also, I'd like to clarify that all of Nevada is open. I have no idea why Kingpoleon think I claimed Southern Nevada.

Well, I haven't been talking much about my own state, so I'll do that now.

Galungar is a very politically diverse state. It comprises all of the territory of real-life New York State. As its demographics are very complex, I'll publish its geographical divisions.

Galotu City:

It's the largest city in Galungar, and it's defined by its racial and cultural diversity and the independence of the majority of its voters. The two clues for candidates to campaign here is to pander to minorities and to send a message of unity and problem-solving.

Maita:
It's the state capital of Galungar, and a Democratic stronghold wherever you see it. It may give a small chance to moderate Republicans at the federal level, but not a victory.

Northwest Galungar:

It's the most politically diverse of all the places in Galungar, and its vote will largely depend on which town we are talking about. Some Native Americans live in the rural areas.

Northeast Galungar

A distinguishably cultural liberal area (except for one very religious town), but also a very independent one. Democrats may want to fire up the base here, while moderate Republicans could pull out an upset every once in a while.

Southwest Galungar:

Some Hispanic centers are located in this otherwise regular battleground area, where Golden City and Silver Town are located.

Southeast Galungar:

Despite being located near to the city of Galotu, the politics here are completely different. The area is largely a stronghold for conservative Republicans, although many African Americans live here. Moderate Republicans would be in deep trouble in this area.

(Hope I can update this later. For now, this is all I've got)

OK, I think it's time we start with our first elections Cheesy But there's an important question I should ask. Should we start the game in 2014 or 2016? Midterms or Presidential election? I'll vote for Midterms, so that we can have our governors elected, but what do you say?

Hmmm...I already declared Gary Johnson the Senator in 2014, although I suppose I could retcon that for the greater good. Tongue

I like the idea of starting with midterms. Will give us more background than if we started with presidential years.
