My God, I can not wait for November 8th. Y'all will be lucky to keep NC within a 1% margin, let alone win Florida.

This board is in for such a surprise at the ass whooping Hillary will hand to Donny.

You're probably right.

For the record I think any Republican winning in November is unlikely, and Trump won't even get close to winning the 400 EV's. But I think he's the only candidate who can win decisively in November.

Trump could well win 400 electoral votes or better.  On the other hand, it's possible that Hillary could win over 400 electoral votes against Trump.

I understand that the country is polarized.  Trump's nomination represents a huge breakout from the box we've been in for some time now in terms of the Presidential vote balances.  The entire nation is so fed up with Establishment politics that they may well give Trump a huge landslide.  On the other hand, Trump may go so far over the top that folks who hate Hillary will view her as the devil they know, as opposed to the devil they don't know.  Trump's that big of a wild card.

I already have a thread and did a map.

If 2016 becomes a Republican presidential pickup, an 8- to 10-point GOP shift would not go against historical pattern.

In party-flippings over the past three decades, Ronald Reagan had a 12-point shift (1980); Bill Clinton had a 13-point shift (1992); George W. Bush had an 8-point shift (2000); and Barack Obama had a 10-point shift (2008).

An 8- to 10-point national shift is a kind estimate. And that would flip a host of states, from 2012 Demcratic to 2016 Republican, worth well over 100 electoral votes.

No, if the GOP wins it’s going to be with less than 300 EVs. And I only see either Rubio or Kasich achieving that.

Ah Mohammedchalid that kool-aid is warping that sense of proportionality, there's no way Hillary Clinton all do as well as you claim she will....you look at how Bernie Sanders has made her fight for what she thought was her's by virtue of entitlement.  You magnify that problems that Sanders has created so far and he's a 'socialist'....and replace him with Donald Trump, who is a personality unlike anybody she's experienced. ....I never thought I'd say this, maybe the guy has what's needed and that is chutzpah with attitude; Hillary is good on her feet, Trump has no equal and that's something, considering I was 'establishment' and for Bush and then Rubio, but I see Rubio getting the V.P. slot on the Trump led ticket or maybe Carly Fiorina or maybe Nikki Haley or Susanna Martinez,  there will be a giant sucking sound as Hillary gets washed away!

Trump is strong in new england and the democratic turnout machine is on the floor.

He's strong among New England Republicans, which is not a path to actually winning.

Not that much. This is the best scenario for The Donald:

Businessman Donald Trump (R-NY)/Governor John Kasich (R-OH): 317 EV. (51.07%)
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton/HUD Secretary Julian Castro (D-TX): 221 EV. (47.35%)
