The good news is that it is treatable.

The bad news, from a partisan perspective at least, is that this could possibly end up with him having to resign or maybe not run again in 2018, possibly destroying Democrats best option to prevent Republicans from gerrymandering PA's Congressional districts again in 2021-2022 (state legislative redistricting is already guaranteed to be fair, but most likely a Democratic gerrymander, due to the PA Supreme Court being stacked with Democrats now)

I hope he's well but he's been a disaster in office.

Has he? I don't pay attention to PA politics, but as I understand it, the Republican legislature won't compromise on the budget. I'm more inclined to think they are being unreasonable, unless Wolf is making unrealistic demands.

It's always a bit of both.  He's wanting way more than Bugsy Rendell did when it comes to increased taxes.  He's also spending like there is a budget.  Audit forthcoming.

Fair enough. I was thinking this was similar to a reverse Rauner/IL legislature issue. Rauner wanted way too much (gerrymandering reform, dismantling public unions, etc), which was totally unreasonable in terms of the union stuff. I believe he backed down on most of that, which leaves the IL legislature at fault now.

With Wolf, he does have a right to represent the interests of the voters/Democrats who elected him, so if he is just asking for modest changes to spending, then it should be accommodated. However, if he's asking for too much, then he's at fault.

I'll just take your word for it for now Tongue

Back to the purpose of the thread.....everyone should wish him well.  One does wonder how much it will take out of him......we'll see about a term 2 run.

Hoping he gets well fast!

I want Costello to beat him fair and square in 2018. Cheesy He's an iffy Governor at best, but at least he has a heart.

I think he's done a terrific job and has faced on the state level a very extreme Republican party (mainly because of the vast swath of rural wasteland and deep woods which correspond closely to WV culturally), but all that aside, a speedy recovery hopefully.

I hope he has a speedy recovery.

My dad had prostate cancer. It was treated early, but the recovery period included a miserable few months. That could end up being difficult on a Governor, although his administration should be able to function.

This.  I may despise his politics, but I don't wish him harm in any way.

I hope he gets better. Like I said in the McCaskill thread, I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone.
