Chauncey Gardner

Serious answer:  someone he perceives as being able to make DEALS in congress.  I could honestly see him picking Santorum, they basically agree on economic issues, which is what Santorum is really passionate about these days, and Santorum was the third-most-powerful Senator in his heyday and could probably still help Trump get his agenda through and forge alliances.

Lamar Alexander would be a great choice if Trump can get him.
He might also go with Sessions.  Immigration seems like a winning horse and it's an issue where the GOP can make a much stronger case than the Democrats.  The Democrats have crying kids who don't want mommy to get sent back to Mexico, but the Republicans can find poor women from a homeless shelter who had jobs until they were fired so their boss could pay an illegal immigrant $3 an hour.  Trump has already shown that he can find dozens of women whose children were murdered by illegal immigrants.  The Democrats have no defense against the drug war argument for building a wall.

I'm sure Trump is smart enough to not pick a LePage, West, Palin, Cuban, Carson, Cruz, or some other controversial outsider.  I think he wants a safe, solid pick to counterbalance his lack of experience, be an important tool once he's in the White House, and bring gravitas and credibility to the ticket.  Trump's not delusional, he knows he's going to have a problem in the general election with those 60% of Republicans who say they would never vote for him, he needs to give them an olive branch, not drive them away by picking Allen West or whoever.

How many people in the latter category would actually agree to join the ticket though?

Scott Brown, he's already stated it. Scott Brown would be a terrific pick! Although I really don't like his pro-choice stance (I'm very pro-life) his support for a ban on all immigration is terrific and something we need now. He has also been one of the few GOP politicians to always oppose amnesty.

1.) Scott Brown
2.) Jon Huntsman
3.) Jeff Flake

Not in the list: Susana Martinez, Nikki Haley, Chris Christie

Why not Christie?  They're buds, Trump cancels out all of Christie's weaknesses (brash asshole with checkered history) and Trump/Christie would absolutely dominate every aspect of the election and achieve 95% media saturation.

I kind of like the Huntsman idea.  He really needs someone that exudes 'seriousness'.  Like in '08 if Obama had picked Sam Nunn

I meant the Trumpster may pick these three, who are not in the list above. Christie could very well be an option, but I consider it not likely since both are from neighbor states. Huntsman has, in my opinion, a better shot for the State Department than the VP's Office. Christie may also join a Trump-Cabinet (maybe Defense?).

Kasich may also be an option, though not very likely, since the Donald recently stated he wants someone, who can help pass legislation. Kasich definitely fits that category. Probably more than all others in the list.

I'd be overjoyed if Trump picks Herman Cain, plunging him back to the scene

Not going to happen. He wants a politican. Cabinet post is more likely.

There's only one person fit to be Donald Trump's running mate.

They can't be a BLACK or a Muslim or a Mexican rapist. It is preferred if they have a penis; if they do not have a penis, it is required that they're very good looking and not fat or anything.

They need to be just as authoritarian and xenophobic as TRUMP.

If they have served in the military during wartime they can't have been captured by the enemy because TRUMP doesn't like losers, he only likes winners. Or they need to have avoided military service altogether. (TRUMP has said the closest he's come to combat was when he was sleeping around at the height of the AIDS epidemic.)

They need to be rude, outspoken, undiplomatic, unpresidential, condescending, and impolite enough so that there's a real possibility of starting a war with another country due to a massive word blunder.  Also they need to have no prior experience in public service. Being a reality star is a plus.

They need to make America great (and white) again.

The only person qualified to be Donald Trump's running mate is Donald Trump. It's the unbeatable ticket and we will always be winning. We will be winning so much that we may get bored with all the winning we win.

Politics aside there's no room for an educated BLACK in Trump's campaign. She's also not that attractive, and we all know Trump doesn't like unattractive women.

Scott Brown would be a terrible pick.

You guys have to remember that Scott Brown is pro-choice. Religious conservatives already hate Trump. A lot of religious conservatives hate the fact that Trump used to be pro-choice and the fact that he isn't religious at all and says very offensive things. He does best with voters that aren't religious. A lot of religious Republicans are already considering not voting if Trump wins the nomination, and choosing a VP nominee that is pro-choice would make this problem worse. A ton of conservatives would stay home if Brown was chosen as the VP nominee just because of abortion. Brown would be a terrible pick, and would guarantee a Hillary presidency.

How can Trump not be religious? He knows the book of Two Corinthians.

He also keeps a book of Hitler speeches by his bedside, and I'm told a lot of Neo-Nazis think of old Adolf as a kind of god.

I wonder if it's fair to compare Trump to Nazis. As bad as Nazis are
do they reallly deserve that?

I really don't think Trump will pick Huntsman.  He spends all day criticizing how the Obama administration has let China take advantage of us and made bad trade deals, and then he goes and picks the Obama administration's ambassador to China?

Excuse you! You're supporting Bernie Sanders, a communist white supremacist who moved away from Brooklyn to the whitest part of the country because there were too many African-American people in Brooklyn. Sanders wants nothing more than to bring back segregation, and make sure that Obama is erased from our historical records like an Egyptian pharaoh. TRUMP, on the other hand, has a great relationship with the blacks, and he would have plenty of "Blaxicasians", as your kind call them, in his administration. He loves African-Americans. He loves Mexicans. TRUMP is America's best shot at achieving diversity.

Nebraska Gov Pete Ricketts.

Ok, seriously.  Sarah Palin.  Oh, I guess not.  She probably thinks John McCain is a war hero which would disqualify her.  Well, on further reflection, she probably doesn't think that and likely realizes that McCain thinks that picking Palin as his running mate in 2008 was his biggest mistake second only to failing to avoid being shot down over North Viet Nam.

Hmmm, maybe Ivana Trump!  No, I better get serious.

If he were smart, it would be Rubio or Kasich.  He would need Florida or Ohio badly if he were nominated and somehow actually competitive in November.

Why not Jodi Rell? As we all know, Connecticut State would be the swing state if TRUMP were nominated.
