A man over 50, with a Ph.D. in business or engineering, who taught at a university for several years but couldn't stomach the politics. Voted Republican beginning in 1984 except in 1992 when he voted for Ross Perot.

A Southern man with a PhD in History; his studies were in early American history. He has a huge feeling of national pride, and his son lost his job to an H1B visa recipient. He was at first critical of Trump, but warmed up to him after reviewing the other candidates.

What ever happened to the whole amorist technocratic communitarian thing seeing as how Trump is pretty much the opposite of all three?

Kasich's the only candidate who fits my ideal (he's running one of the most "amorist" campaigns I've ever seen), and I'd love for him to be president, but that isn't likely to happen. What's left after that are all very bad options, and sticking it to the conservative establishment that's screwed over candidates like Kasich is very appealing to me (the sheer arrogance and entitlement of Rubio supporters toward Kasich repulses me). Trump's actual policies don't appeal much to me except on foreign policy, but I also believe that regardless of who wins in 2016, nothing much is getting passed domestically any time soon. Further, Trump's inexperience with many domestic issues makes him more likely to rely on advisors and govern technocratically than an ideologue like Cruz.

You plan to support Trump for president when he's 96 years old?

"Peronista" applies to more than simply "Juan" right?

I would have thought they would support McMullin.

And yet McMullin isn't leading in the state and is actually behind even Clinton, and given how far R Provo usually is...

Eric Metaxas seems at first glance like he might fit this description but does in fact not.
