Number of absentee ballots returned so far in the Dem. primary: 52.000

In the GOP primary, it was 62.000 and overall turnout was 750.000

So, 650K turnout is likely today (up more than 100K from 2008).

What percentage of the absentee ballots returned were from African-Americans?

IIR it is around 60 to 70%

It was 73% when I checked this afternoon.

Hillary is going to win every county.

Not necessarily. The early vote should be much more black than the overall vote.

Aiken seems to be Sanders's best county so far.

Yeah, I'm calling it at at least 80-20 now.

Bye, Bernie. Sad

Lol don't worry it will tighten plenty.

Yeah, this is all early vote, which was about 75% black. Election day was about 60%.

Updated exit polls have Clinton leading 53-47 among whites, 87-13 among blacks.

Well, and it's pretty difficult to accurately poll the black community in the South.

I wonder: How much, if any, of Clinton's overperformance stems from the tendency of candidates listed first on the ballot to overperform in southern Democratic primaries for the last 5-10 years?

Any chance Sanders could have won any state house/senate districts, or towns?

Very little. Sanders even lost Clemson University's precinct and most of the surrounding precincts. Things he did win: Walhalla (Oconee County), Pelzer (Anderson County), Pelion (Lexington County), Folly Beach (Charleston County), James Island (Charleston County). Possibly others.
