I'll come back to this thread later and sticky it during the days in question, but all of the Republican candidates for president are scheduled to speak at CPAC this year, as is Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson.  We'll then of course have the annual straw poll at the end of the conference.  Here's when the presidential candidates will be speaking:

http://cpac.conservative.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2016/02/CPAC-General-Session2.27.pdf

Thursday:
10:25am: Gary Johnson (panel discussion)

Friday:
1:15pm: John Kasich
2:40pm: Ted Cruz
4:15pm: Ben Carson

Saturday:
8:30am: Donald Trump
11:35am: Marco Rubio
4:45pm: CPAC straw poll results released

What's the chance that Gary Johnson could end up winning that straw poll with Rand Paul now out of the race?

My guess is that they'll only include the Republican candidates in the straw poll.

I am going to be at CPAC all three days this year.  I won't be on much during that time, because I will be listening to the speakers and catching up with old friends, but I will give a report when it's all done!

I misread the schedule earlier when I put in the time for Gary Johnson.  He’s not doing a solo talk.  Instead, he’s part of a panel discussion.

In addition to the current presidential candidates, it’ll be interesting to see if anyone there is auditioning for either the 2016 VP nomination or positioning themselves to be a 2020 presidential candidate.  For example, the following people, each of whom might be interested in one of those two jobs, will be speaking at CPAC:

Joni Ernst
Carly Fiorina
Mike Lee
Paul Ryan
Tim Scott
Scott Walker

Some potential 2020 presidential candidates who *won’t* be speaking at CPAC: Tom Cotton, Nikki Haley, Rand Paul, Mike Pence

Any reason they gave Carson the prime speaking spot?

Too bad CPAC is located in Maryland, needs to be centralized geographically. I'd like to attend someday in the future.

It is central - to the GOP pundit/consultant/political class who CPAC is intended for.

I actually have the 'honor' of owning a copy of that book on the right side of the table. It's a long story.

Um... CPAC generally skews young and liberty minded.

Ted Cruz should win with about 30-45%

CPAC doesn't believe in the 2nd Amendment, as not guns are allowed there:

Guns aren't necessarily weapons. Guns don't kill people; bullets kill people.
