How? North Carolina always seemed like a dull state to me, but I've never spent a lot of time in it, so it's hard to judge. Never been to South Carolina at all that I can remember though, so I just assumed the best and voted for it.

North Carolina, because of the Research Triangle. It's got something like the two best universities in red states there.

A bit of birthplace bias here, but I believe North Carolina to be better. South Carolina has a sweet governor though
