Rubio made a statement where he condemned Trump's remarks but didn't rescind his endorsement. That's why Murphy is hammering him today.

Can we please once and for all bury the idea that Cruz is some unparalleled genius with masterful political instincts?

Is the OP still being updated, or does anybody have a comprehensive list of all of the Trump un-endorsements and #NeverTrumpers? I'd love to make a map of the House members.

I'm going to update the list in the OP eventually, but I don't have time to keep up with it all.  As it stands the OP list is what existed pre-hot mic episode.

EDIT: Also the OP list is people who are actually #NeverTrump.  But as I said upthread, there are dozens of members of Congress who are #UndecidedOnTrump.  They haven't endorsed Trump, but never ruled out doing so in the future.  There are too many such people to keep track of all of them.

I thought Cruz believed that people need to take responsibility for their own actions, and accept the consequences. Why is he blaming Trump when it was the GOP who nominated Trump and supported Trump's campaign?

Enough! Donald Trump should not be President. He should withdraw.
As a Republican, I hope to support someone who has the dignity and stature to run for the highest office in the greatest democracy on earth.

I never understood why McCain supported trump from the beginning (or near the beginning).
If I were McCain and heard trump say that I "was only a hero, because he was captured" B.S., I would have detached myself from the orange-haired clown immediately !

If the GOP forced Trump out at the last second and propped up Pence (or whoever) and the CPD let him in the debate, Hillary could pretty legitimately back out and argue that the CPD was ignoring the debate rules the campaigns had agreed to if there were no polls to determine if the replacement candidate met the 15% threshold. I don't think the public would really hold that against her.

It would be pretty funny if Trump backed out of the third debate and the CPD let Gary Johnson in for the lols.

Cruz should have done the principled thing and stuck by his guns on "vote your conscience" and never endorsed the snake oil salesman from New York.

As a former resident of the great state of Texas, there are lines that should not be crossed.

Although, I disagree with Rick Perry and George W. on many fundamental policy positions, they always recognized and stood up for Tejanos and Latino-Americans in Texas when it came to scapegoating and racist stereotypes. Most statewide Republican political leaders are well aware of the amazing contributions that Tejanos and Latinos have made in Texas, from the Revolution against Santa Ana to the present day.

Cruz virtually sold his soul to the devil when he endorsed Trump, and I really hopes he walks his recent endorsement back, as a man of God and faith and for the future of Texas and America that is inclusive for people of all backgrounds in pursuit of the American Dream.

Again, not a big Cruz supporter but his opinion still counts in Texas and the endorsement of Trump shortly before the recent revelations could well have sealed his political career, and he won't be buried in hallowed ground next to Sam Houston in Huntsville Texas even metaphorically when "all the eyes of Texas are upon you".

Cruz has the worst sense of timing in the history of U.S. politics.
