Dent's probably gonna vote for Clinton in the privacy of the booth. The guy said that there should be a bipartisan commission to select a speaker after Boehner left.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chris Gibson (veteran, moderate, not running for re-election, represents a fairly cosmopolitan district, has openly criticized Trump and never officially endorsed) followed Hanna's lead on this before long.

Not sure whether any other NY Republicans would be interested, as Stefanik is probably the only one who represents a district where it would go over well, and she has already openly endorsed Trump for the sake of her party leadership ambitions.
Could she lose Averroes?

A Republican strategist who's advising candidates in swing districts is urging candidates to distance themselves from Trump, potentially going as far as un-endorsing him:

The Green Party candidate will pull 15%, the Democrat is an uncharismatic dud of a candidate who's attracting barely any attention, who's being run seemingly exclusively because he had a military background (he has never run for elected office before). Stefanik has all of the local business, media, political, and non-profit elites firmly in her corner as well. Sadly, not likely.

Looks like Sanford switched a few weeks ago from #NeverTrump to #Ihaven'tdecidedyet:

link

So we have at least a couple of formerly #NeverTrump folks who switched to undecided, but that's more than offset by the increase in #NeverTrump GOP politicos who've been added to the list in recent weeks.  I'm still not aware of a single remotely prominent person who previously said that they wouldn't vote for Trump in the GE who is now supporting him.

Yeah, Dent is one of the few House Republicans I like. His actions during the government shutdown and speaker coup were admirable, particularly since he was basically standing alone as all the fake moderate heroes deserted him for political points.

Kinzinger also stood by him, IIRC. Hopefully one of them gets into higher office soon.

I think Dent will probably vote for Gary Johnson.

Most of the #NeverTrump Republicans continue to be vague about who exactly they *will* vote for in November, though (by definition) they've ruled out Trump, and most seem to have ruled out Clinton.  Will be interesting to see how many still haven't commented on that by election day (which means a secret vote for Clinton is a strong possibility) vs. how many say they'll write in a name vs. how many (if any) publicly endorse Johnson.

Who is the strongest bet to publicly endorse Johnson?  Justin Amash?

Damn...

this is slightly different than random Republican moderates endorsing Clinton. Humphrey is a has been, but that dude is staunchly conservative. If the hard right-wing sit out, who the hell does this guy have left?

Humphrey has moderated over the years. He supported Kasich heavily in the primaries and at the convention. Before that, he literally praised Edward Snowden.

I didn't say Humphrey was a conventional conservative. Just staunchly so.

Kasich got some pretty right wing endorsements dude - remember Dick Armey, aka one of the originators of the Tea Party, endorsed Kasich.

Dick Armey endorsed Hutchison over Rick Perry. He's as fake a Tea Partier as anyone.

How? They're still in the middle of summer break.

Well, I have to make sure my old friends at my alma mater follow suit.
