CO-SEN candidate Darryl Glenn is backpedaling from his unendorsement of Trump, although he hasn't officially ununendorsed him yet.  http://www.coloradopols.com/diary/88235/republican-base-outraged-by-flight-from-trump

CO GOP really swung and missed with this Senate race.
They fumbled big time here. They easily could have had someone better.

Bennet has got to be one of the luckier Senators.  Appointed to the Senate as a school superintendent and faces two pretty unpopular opponents in his only elections so far.

They wouldn't have won this race unless the top of the ticket got within a few points of winning Colorado, though, which means nominating a much less horrible candidate.

All these politicians saying they'll write in the names of people who aren't running for president must be really irritating to McMullin.

tell me what you want, what you really really want?

Toomey refuses to rule out supporting Donald Trump for president
http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/capitolinq/Toomey-refuses-to-rule-out-supporting-Donald-Trump-for-president.html

more catch22:

He was more definitive on Clinton: "I think Hillary Clinton is a hopelessly flawed candidate, I could never support Hillary Clinton."

[...]

Toomey blasted his Democratic challenger, Katie McGinty, for her support of Clinton, saying, "that kind of reflexive partisanship is not helpful in Washington, it's not going to help us break the gridlock that we have."

Both Rep. Pat Meehan (PA) and former Secretary of Education William Bennett call on Trump to drop out:

Btw, here's what Bennett was saying about the #NeverTrump movement back in August:

I hate to say it but politically that is probably the right response considering Trump would unload on him.

Doesn't make it right though.

I'm not sure that would be enough to save him if Trump decided to go nuclear on him like with Ryan.

Trump would probably love to, he enjoys his "Little Marco"ing or "Lyin' Ted"ing.

Yeah there is nothing Trump likes more than breaking out his greatest GOP primary hits. He would have a FL rally scheduled the second Rubio unendorsed.

I wonder why Ted Cruz is being so malleable. He isn't running for senate.

I'm pretty sure Trump didn't promise him some plush cabinet post either

My immediate thought when Cruz endorsed him out of the blue fairly late in the game was that Trump promised to make him AG. We'll never know though, thankfully.

He is in 2018 and the sharks are circling to primary him.

He has no conviction and by selling out the proud history of Texas, even in modern era politics where George W. , Rick Perry and many others whom stood up for the Tejanos and Mexican-Americans, has exposed himself to be yet another craven politician.

Yes he is worried about getting primaried, but at this point he could well lose the Senate seat in the GE to a decent Democratic challenger, by showing that he has no spine when it comes for standing up to all decency in a state that is proud of the contributions of Latinos from the Texas Revolution to the present day.

He has become a disgrace to Texas in pursuit of his own national ambitions, and going down the tracks on the Trump train might help him win the primary but flame out in the GE, while also solidifying Tejano/Latino attitudes in Texas regarding "their place" within the Republican Party.

If it hasn't been posted before: New Mexico College Republicans dump Trump and endorse Johnson:

To be clear, she never actually said that she wouldn't vote for him.  She said she thought it would be better if he dropped out of the race, but didn't say she'd withdraw her endorsement if he didn't.

Thune also says that he'll vote for Trump if he's on the ballot:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/republican-senators-urged-donald-trump-step-support/story?id=42748881

The story portrays this as a "reversal" for Thune and Fischer.  But again, the media sees it this way because they weren't properly parsing Fischer's and Thune's statements over the weekend.  They both said that Trump should drop out, because the party would be better off with Pence leading the ticket.  But they never said they would defect to Clinton or 3rd party if Trump refuses to go.

I had a feeling that some of the 'Trump should drop out' people were hedging their bets and not true Never Trumpers. They are "I don't wanna but I will Trumpers"
