He got $800,000 and spent $130,000 of it on stuff he'd always wanted?
He wasn't that deep in debt, guys.  He went to University of Miami for law school and University of Florida for undergrad, both were in-state, his student loans can't have been more than $100,000.  Then he was in debt from the house and maybe wanted to pay off some stuff for his wife too (although he jokes that she thought Fannie Mae was a person so maybe not) but an $800,000 book deal took him from broke to rich overnight, I would have bought a nice car too, althought not an Audi.
