The party offers them more affordable healthcare, a world where they won't be sent to war for stupid reasons, and the ability to be paid more for the work they do. I say the Democratic Party offers them way more than the Republican Party does.

Because they aren't the Republican Party, which offers nothing to anyone, except the very rich.

Sub-par healthcare that isn't at the mercy of insurance companies is certainly one reason.

Also the college tuition thing is a plus, ya' know for those ones that have kids.

For their economic well-being.

You can also be white and oppose racism, male and oppose sexism, straight and oppose homophobia... and even have those are main, very strong, political beliefs.

Not everyone puts their own conditions above the state of the nation.
That is why you will sometimes have a poor minority vote for a Republican or a rich white guy vote for a Democrat. Different people have different priorities.

This white guy might value environmental regulations and more restraint in foreign policy matters and so they tend to support democrats despite that possibly resulting in them paying higher taxes. The minority may be a strong opponent of abortion and oppose spending on domestic programs even if it means they aren't able to take advantage of say health care assistance for the poor.

As most people don't fit into a box a lot of people ultimately vote based on priorities. Why does someone have to vote in their own best interests above all anyway? Why encourage selfish actions?
