What won't be "cool" is the GOP airing all its dirty linen in public.

He would think it's cool, the man with the fewest enemies would have a head start in a brokered convention

Obvious... He's the governor of Convention's home state. It will attract attention and money to Ohio. And his people will behind Convention organization. If not a candidate, he can be the powerbroker of convention.

It would be cool.
I would be very tempted to go to Cleveland if I could get in.  So much strategy, it's a dream come true for a guy like me.

It would be very cool. It would turn the election into a coronation for Clinton. Smiley

Oh yes, it's the traditional "primaries are terrible!" meme the democrats are running with nowadays, to the point where they're nominating someone under FBI Investigation solely because their gender has made them popular within the party (And no, the FBI is not a partisan organization, no matter how much DWS, Obama, or democrats in general say it is.). If you run a low-energy campaign based on "We'll win anyways, because _________________", sorry, but you're going to lose. Also, Newsflash: Ballot access deadlines mean TRUMP literally can't start an independent run in Late July. And before you bring it up, the constitution party is deciding its nominee in April and the Libertarian Party will do so in June.

We're not talking about a primary here, we're talking about a contested convention, which would almost certainly lead to a lot of division within the Republican Party (even more than there currently is), and it would be happening much closer to the actual election. Many voters would likely end up feeling disenfranchised, and while they might not flock to Clinton, there's a good chance they'd either stay home or vote third party. For the record, I'm supporting Sanders, though I've accepted that Clinton is the most likely nominee. IMO, the odds of the FBI investigation going anywhere are under 1%.
