Well, I happen to live not far outside of Cleveland. A friend of mine with some connections to the state party is trying to get the two of us access into the Quicken Loans Arena so we can watch the inevitable clusterfuсk and heckle some politicians in person, but I don't know how realistic that idea is. In principle, though, the Q seats more than 20,000 people, and not all of them can be delegates and politicians, so I'm hopeful.

It's in late August, right? So I'll probably be in France or Italy.

That said, who knows, maybe my sleep schedule will be so f**ked up that I'll manage to stay up all night for it.

Well, depending on how my search for affordable housing goes, I might end up still being in LA (though I certainly wouldn't hope for that...).

I was pulling a lot of strings to be an actual delegate, but I decided against it for two reasons.

1) My friend in the RPOF and I go back a while now and I don't want to use any favors up with a big bang when I'll need his influence and mentoring for years to come.

2) It's fINKsing expensive to go to Cleveland.

Even in the absence of a contested convention, this'll probably be a huge s*!tshow.  Trump's the likely nominee absent a contested convention, and a decent share of the party leadership is in revolt over that.  There'll be hourly controversies about who's speaking, what they're going to talk about, what happens with delegates who refuse to endorse Trump, who and what is and isn't getting cheered or booed with each speech, whether "Ninja delegates" refuse to nominate Trump's VP choice, what the platform is, etc.  It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Mitt Romney leads a #NeverTrump counter-convention across the street.

It's times like this that I wish I were a Republican so I could run to be a delegate for the convention. Who knows, maybe the Dem side will be interesting as well (I am trying to be a delegate for that).

I actually just got a free TV (my roommate gave me his old one) and its sitting in my closet right now. Maybe I'll set it up in my office so I can watch the floor-fights (if they happen) while working.

By the way, my firm brought on a new guy, so I lost my actual office and my new "office" is an empty supply closet filled with filing cabinets and a folding table.
