Kansas was won easily by Huckabee and Santorum. I don't see why Cruz winning there would be a huge surprise.

Mostly because Trump has been leading there.

Cruz won Waldo county in Maine per twitter.

Trump in 2nd followed by Kasich and then Boy Wonder.

Which matches DDHQ lol

They start at different times. go back to 2012 for reference

Cruz is surging past Trump in Maine betting markets.

Not that I'm not pleased with the possibility that Cruz will take down Trump in the state, but how and why did it happen?  I would think he's an anathema to Maine Republicans.

Ron Paul lost to Romney by very few votes, there is a libertarian streak in Maine.

This was 2012:

Romney 2,269 39%
Paul 2,030 35%
Santorum 989 18%
Gingrich 349 7%

If Cruz is winning Ron Paul supporters here, he should do well.

Gold counties are Paul
Orange is Romney
Green is Santorum

Now, I will be shocked if Cruz wins Maine, but I don't think he will. I do think it will be close though.

Also, remember Ron Paul won Kennebec county last time also..

If Cruz wins Maine, it could mean multiple things:

1.)Trump still has terrible ground game (which means possible losses in Kansas as well)
2.)His support is beginning to grow and he can compete practically anywhere
3.)Trump is beginning to wane.
4.)Or it's a quirk

i'm not at all surprised, it's not that far of a leap from sociopath paul lepage to actual zodiac killer ted cruz.

In all fairness LePage won with a split moderate/liberal vote

Reports on twitter are saying that Cruz beat Trump in Portland and Kennebec, as well.

Kennebec went for Paul in 2012, it shouldn't be a surprise Cruz is winning there now. Portland? Holy Crap.

The twitter reports are indicating such a thorough upset that they're getting hard to believe.

The counties these are coming from were Ron Paul counties last time so...not unexpected.

Looks like Cruz will probably heavily overperform his numbers in Kansas.

Remember Kentucky is Rand Paul territory and a lot of Rand's supporters in Kentucky like Cruz a lot. Trump doesn't have a lock on the state.

All indications are that Trump is doing well, sample precincts that news crews are at and from twitter suggest TRUMP is dominating

Any reason why Kansas hasn't been called, yet?  Are there caucuses still going on?

There are MASSIVE lines in Wichita that have not yet even begun to caucus yet

Oh ok, I figured that had to be the reason.  All these scattered times for all the states have me quite confused...  Thanks!

There are just way too many people wanting to caucus so the lines are ridiculously large.
