A LOOOOOOT of people at that caucus site in Wichita on CNN, looks very CRUZ friendly

Yeah I can see Kansas going to Cruz here, people may call it odd, but I think the whole 'Trump does worse west of the Mississippi' narrative has some merit.

Regardless of who wins it looks like Republicans are going to continue to shatter turnout records.

Caucus/primary doesnt seem to matter.

Kasich really could have pushed hard in Maine. Dont see why he wasted his time in Michigan, Trump plays worse in Maine than in Mass or NH....

I love how informal results for Maine are popping up when the state doesn't end polling until 7 PM.

Once again...the state has caucuses in each county which end at different times. "The polls" dont close at 7 so to speak.

Massachusetts, the heart of the old Confederacy.

Well played.

Cruz should win Kansas running away at this point. No real way Trump can catch up barring some miraculous statistical anomalies in the first 10% of the results.

Have you looked at any maps of this primary at all?

To be fair, Trumps worst states have been outside of the South. Yes, MA was an anomaly, but I think he would have lost NH if it was just 3/4 candidates and Cruz has beat him in the Plains.

He has not won in the Midwest either.

CNN reporting 'whopping' turnout in KS....places are running out of registration ballots.

Turnout in KY so massive they started counting early.

Republicans have no excuse for losing in November.

Cruz may have a big day today. Winning in KS, perhaps some surprises in KY and ME too. Have to wonder if anything has changed after the debate...or perhaps Trumps Super Tuesday win has motivated more people to get out and fight him.

This makes absolutely no sense considering how poorly Cruz has done in New England...but Maine is 'special' in so many ways.

Hypothetical here how will it look in the media if Cruz sweeps all four states tonight

Trump collapsing more than Cruz is a winner.

Ted Cruz has won Lincoln County, Maine per twitter (https://mobile.twitter.com/alexis_levinson/status/706230955241897985?p=v)

At this point, there have been unofficial reports of him winning almost half of the counties in Maine, including in Portland and Augusta. It is likely he will vastly over-perform there if not win it outright.

I don't even understand Maine.

WHAT ARE YOU???

Maine is the odd child of New England. The population is exceedingly rural and highly eclectic. Demographically it is very similar to NH or VT, but politically there are substantial differences and Maine has shown a tendency to vote oddly.

Maine really is an oddball of American politics. It had two Republican senators not to long ago, has an independent Senator, a governor who regularly makes gaffes yet got re-elected easily, and its a state that regularly gives third parties plenty of the vote. This election will be no exception.

Portland is about as hipster as it gets but the rest of the state may as well be its own country. Very little relation to other parts of New England IMO.

How does the Cajun population vote in LA relative to the rest of the state? I suspect the religious/cultural  differences may influence different voting patterns?

Let's be real - who expected Trump to do well in KANSAS?

Well if Cruz internal polling had them close...then yeah, this shouldnt have been a 2:1 win for Eduardo Rafa Cruz.

Trump campaign say sources on the ground show that Trump is doing exceptionally well in Kentucky right now

- CNN

Coming from the people that blew Maine?
Uh... about 5% of the vote is in. Let's not jump too quickly here...

Unofficial reports have him losing just about every major county in the state and some by significant margins.
