Fantastic FF result -- good to see little trump be denied the achievement of first candidate to surpass 50% in a contest!

On a different note, I too am quite curious to know why Fiorina did so (comparatively) well. She's close to being within single digits of trump!

He was denied that honor a while ago. Bernie Sanders was the first one. Wink

Rubio underperforms McCain, Romney, and pretty much every establishment candidate ever in Puerto Rico.

It's not too late; he might still sink into the 60s.  According to Decision Desk HQ, he's only at 71% right now:

The first state/territory where one candidate got more than 50% of the vote on the Republican side this year!

Yeah Rubio has been steadily dropping since the vote counting started.

I think DDHQ and the Election Commission are counting blank and invalid ballots as votes, which explains part of the drop.  There are 1,445 "otros" (others), which includes just 14 write-ins.  If you don't count the otros, Rubio is still at 74%.

Final PR Results:

Island Wide Results
Candidato / Candidate   Votos / Votes   Porciento / Vote %   Delegados / Delegates
MARCO RUBIO     27,485   71.02%   20
DONALD TRUMP      5,052   13.05%   0
TED CRUZ              3,340   8.63%   0
JOHN R. KASICH         516   1.33%   0
CARLY FIORINA         286   0.74%   0
JEB BUSH                 236   0.61%   0
BEN CARSON        138   0.36%   0
MIKE HUCKABEE       63   0.16%   0
RAND PAUL          41   0.11%   0
RICK SANTORUM      31   0.08%   0
JAMES GILMORE          25   0.06%   0
CHRIS CHRISTIE       20   0.05%   0
*Otros              1,466   0.04%   -
Total: 38,699

Gilmentum!

Only 14 of the Otros are write-ins.  And a whopping 1.37% of the PR electorate turned out.

Every Senatorial district was Rubio-Trump-Cruz.  San Juan was Trump's best Senatorial district.  He received 16.74% of the vote there.  Cruz broke 10% in 2 of the 8 Senatorial districts - Arecibo and Carolina.

Well, when you decrease the number of polling stations by more than 90%, what do you expect?  Tongue

CNN/AP must be ignoring the Otros, except perhaps for write-ins.  It really doesn't make sense to count the blank and spoiled ballots in the total.  As I said, there were only 14 write-ins.
