Is there a real chance the Democrats could regain the West Virginia legislature this year?

Appalachia might be trending back to the Democrats, or at least parts of it. Even in Kentucky, Jack Conway managed to win Floyd County by 12%, and one of the special elections in Kentucky that the Democrats just won in a landslide was pretty much in Appalachia.

Also, you'd think the "right-to-work" stuff would really be frowned upon in West Virginia.

Then there's the issue of the GOP having terrible presidential candidates and possibly breaking up because of it.

If you're wrong (as I fear) and TRUMP wins the general, you have my condolences. TRUMP will place you in a TRUMP University re-education camp.

Who knows.  It's like watching a fish flop around on the bottom of the vote.  The legislature failed to come up with a budget in the session that ended Saturday, so the Gov will have to call a special session (and pay the bums extra per diem) to get a budget.  Really, I don't see a way forward for WV.  The coal parts of KY, VA, and PA are small parts of larger functioning states, while WV is mostly coal with a small part (East Panhandle) actually functional.

This is probably going to be a complete wipeout for WV Dems.  I wouldn't be surprised if they come out of it under 30% in both chambers.  Trump will only help.

"We're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business."

It will be a total bloodbath if Hillary is the nominee. Bernie will of course lose WV too, but it won't be a total bloodbath.

I'm pretty sure that it's gone for good.

After the "right-to-work" debacle, I have serious doubts the GOP will keep it.
