As does calling Mexicans rapists, encouraging supporters to punch protestors in the face, and demonizing Muslims. One is a systematic pattern of hatred and racial incitement. One is a small incident that could happen between a couple kids in kindergarten. I'd think we'd be above this.

I do not support the protesters having infiltrated the rally. The police need to bring order to this lawlessness. If they had remained on the other side of the street, I would have no problem with them protesting. Righteousness does not absolve militancy. I do support Trump's supporters defending themselves and the right to hold their rally in the peace of their own mantras and whatever else.

Effect on the polls - not a clue. It could go either way. I hope this gets resolved, locally and nationwide, in a most expeditious manner.

I saw one punch. You also see some pushing and some yelling.

As a non-USA citizen, I cannot gauge what effect this style of protesting would have.

I have no problem with peaceful protest, but these angry little children are not peacefully protesting. They sneak into rallies, they cause a scene, and then they cross their fingers that they provoke someone into punching them so that they can post a picture of their bloodied face on Instagram and play the martyr. You can't shut down a politician's rally with threats of violence just because you disagree with him or her.
