It is not news to say that there were many Germans who opposed Hitler and his ways in the 1930's and 40's.
After the war, those that survived finally spoke out and told the world that they blamed themselves for not speaking out early, against the hatred and bigotry that Hitler brought to their lives and country.

They regret that if they would have protested, if they would have rebelled, if they would have been more active against the evil, maybe, just maybe they could have stopped the destruction they befell on them.

Because of the extreme words and hints of hatred, racism and bigotry from trump, I find no issue with these protesters. Maybe, just maybe, they can stop the evil they may fall on our nation, before it is too late.

This is a absolutely disguesting post.

Saying that we should Build a wall to protect our boarders is bigotry and hatred?

or saying we should ban (extremist Muslims ) from entering our country is hatred and bigotry?

I agree, this is a disgusting post.  We're getting into "you know, the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear" levels of tangential-Hitler-similarity absurdism here.  This post is basically "I've already decided that Trump is literally Hitler, and many people wish they had protested the Nazis, so people should avoid making the same mistake by protesting Trump now."

The "building of the wall" is not the main issue. It's that trump called/described almost all of the Mexican immigrants as rapist, criminals and associated with drugs. That is hatred and bigotry (and false).

Banning "extreme Muslims" is not the issue. The fact is that Trump wants to stop ALL Muslims from entry, and he has even called for All Muslims currently living in America (citizens), to be inserted into a database for tracking. That is hatred and bigotry.

You know this, but you intentionally block it from you mind. It makes it more easy for you to accept trump, when you ignore reality. I understand. Let me get this right.

Vosem is going to a Trump rally in Cleveland tomorrow.

As Vosem does not like Trump, he will exercise his right to protest.

Vosem is a licensed gun owner.

Vosem is planning to take a concealed gun inside the rally.

Two questions.

What network is covering the rally in Cleveland, and what time does it start?

This thread is a sad microcosm of the state of your country today, and its place in the world.

The idea that this guy can appear on TV night after night preaching his hatred, and yet any protest against this is denounced from all sides, your ideals of free speech are dead.

The idea its OK to class all immigrants from one country as rapists and everyone from a religion as terrorists, and then balk when people want to protest this, is not learning the lessons of history and is as allowing creeping facism to enter your mainstream.

The idea that a police officer should be defended for shooting dead an unamred man, time-and-time-again, or that no action should be taken after a nutter shoots up a school, time-and-time again, is allowing yourselves to be caught up in a cycle of chaos and vitriol that will never end.

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

It wasn't just any protest, it was a giant, violent protest.   I wouldn't even call it a protest because they weren't protesting so much as trying to disrupt the event and prevent it from happening by sneaking in disguised as legitimate Trump supporters.

Thanks for quoting the Holocaust poem, though.  Highly appropriate for the gravity of the situation given just how many feet high Trump plans to make his wall.

This is his exact quote :
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

When trump says that only "some, I assume are good people," then he is saying that the extreme vast majority of Mexican immigrants are "bad" and that only a handful (very, very small amount) of immigrants are "good."

This is not only false, but extremely offensive.
Therefore, trump and his words are described as/with hatred, racism and bigotry.

It's times like these that remind me how the modern American Left is filled with a such a load of bumbling pussies. No wonder we always get clobbered! Everybody needs to be uniting around these protesters and encouraging it to continue. We're not going to get anywhere until this bulging, nasty pimple that is the dark underbelly of conservative American society comes to a big, fat head. The pus is there and it ain't going away; the body-politic only gets sicker from trying to absorb it over time. We've already lost when people start saying "well, I don't condone this", "so and so wasn't responsible for this", "in the strongest possible terms I reject this" and blah blah blah blah blah.

The "extreme vast majority" and "very very small amount" parts are you editorializing.  All he said is "some."  I could say "some coins are silver but there are a lot of copper ones" and it would be just a valid statement as "some illegal immigrants are good people but there are a lot of rapists and drug dealers"

The very fact that he said "Mexico isn't sending their best" shows that it's not racist against Mexicans.  He very clearly implies that Mexico has some great people who aren't coming over the border.

Bernie supporters, how would you feel if thousands of Trump supporters showed up at a Bernie rally and were screaming and behaving like hooligans and threatening you and holding threatening signs and some were even getting violent?  How do you think the media would react and what would people be demanding from Trump?

That is a pretty good point Lyin' Steve.

It does not matter anymore. The liberals want Trump out. And some of the Republicans for that matter.

Trump buys an ice-cream. Capitalist

Trump buy a vanilla ice cream. Racist

Trump does not want any other food. Fascist.

Trump wants a beer. Womaniser.

It does not matter what he does now. People are scared he is going to be President, and they are angry.

I would have expected the liberal voters to be more open to free speech, but i am starting to observe they are worse.

No Trump supporter would rock up at a democratic rally.

And you blame me for "editorializing" ? Seems like the pot calling the kettle black.
When trump added the smug "I assume" to the statement "and some, I assume, are good people," he meant to defame even the "good" ones.

Plus you are deflecting again. There is no comparison to your words of "but there are a lot of rapists and drug dealers," to trump's words of "They are rapists."
trump's poor words of choice in his statement, makes it bleed with racism and bigotry.
But don't be fooled, it was meant to attract those (voters and supporters) who hold extreme white nationalistic views.

And in addition ....
Data on immigrants and crime are incomplete, but a range of studies show there is no evidence immigrants commit more crimes than native-born Americans. In fact, first-generation immigrants are predisposed to lower crime rates than native-born Americans. (The Center for Immigration Studies, which advocates for restrictive immigration laws, has a detailed report showing the shortfalls of immigrant crime data.)

Even Cruz supporters should be ashamed of this display by progressive leftist protesters.  This is the very def of shutting down peoples freedom of speech and right assemble.   Those Trump supporters had every right to be there and listen to Trump.  If the opposition don't like what he has to say then disagree, then vote against him.  That's the system we have in this country.

So basically you have to 100% agree with the liberals point of view in order to hold a rally?   If its come to that then screw the election and just make Hillary or the Socialist president .. better yet just outlaw conservatives from voting all together.

Will those left-wig protesters ever learn? They do this kind of thing a lot in certain European countries and all it ever does is help the other side.

As if conservatives never protest? Please.

Tell families that it's okay to state that a swath of a ethnic population are rapists and criminals, that it's okay that Muslims (even those who are peaceful) should be branded/banned and expect everyone to not protest.

Yes, the system is good as it is for the most part, but the fact you only characterize one side of the political spectrum this way is antagonizing and lessens the value of your whole argument.

"Some" Republicans? Hah.

ProudModerate2, who is much smarter than anyone else, knows that Meclazine means the "extreme, vast minority, a very very small amount of Republicans."

This photo of the saluting woman is going around Twitter. Trump supporters are saying that she's actually a Bernie plant:

Why does that not surprise me?

I dont think it matters who salutes Hitler to be honest.

Trump will still get a ratings boost from these types of activities.

Trump has one option he could take to try and dial down the tensions: he could apologize. What for? Well, his comments about Mexicans certainly, maybe also his expressed desire to beat the crap out of protesters, maybe some of the comments he made to Megyn Kelly (and like a thousand other people), oh gee, I wonder...

Of course that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Now I'm in a tiny town in Australia with a very slow internet connection at the moment so I can't voice an opinion about how violent or not the protests were or what fraction of the rioting was done by Sanders supporters or any of that stuff. But I can say the Trump has built his image/campaign/persona/cult around a certain distorted view of masculinity: one that is tough, physical, wins in the clutch, is a top-tier talent truly acting in the interests of blue collar whites who've gotten the shaft, and most importantly, and I mean most importantly, never admits he was wrong and never apologizes. Now, not all of his supporters like that schtick; some can't stand it but support him because they feel he is the only politician who isn't for sale (and fail to recognize that it's because he has already been sold but that's another discussion). But when his persona is a distorted caricature of masculinity ready to pick a fight, with a penchant for denigrating minorities, it really is only a matter of time before this sort of stuff erupted. But as I said, it is only a distorted caricature of masculinity: masculinity perfected includes strength but also humility. A real man knows when to kneel as well as when to stand. It is unfortunate in this era of soundbites that no one seemingly asks him about this, because he is missing a real opportunity to mend some fences.

All of this is sad in a number of ways. First, he's handing the white house on a silver platter to a horrible candidate. The Trump cult seems to think it is the "establishment" who is doing so, but fail to recognize if Trump was without some of his more egregious shortcomings the establishment wouldn't have a prayer of denting him even if they'd wanted to. Second, some of the issues baked into Trump's campaign are legitimate problems we should be considering that have been neglected by American politics. We should be taking a hard look at China's currency manipulation, all of our wars in the Middle East, our relationship with Israel, the need to have a government that serves working Americans instead of merely signing a "No New Taxes!!" pledge for the millionth time, etc. Unfortunately, all of those topics are peripheral to the idol himself and will remain so.

As with most things in modern America, we seem to be an unrolling ball of yarn, coming apart perpetually. How can we put things back together again?

No effect. But it is a disaster. Protesters should demonstrate peacefully outside the arena and leave TRUMP speak. This is his right, just like any other can is allowed to address their supporters.

Trump -

"I'd like to knock the crap out"

"I'd pay the legal fees if someone beats him up"

- It is sad if Trump fans got abused - They should sue Trump for inciting & creating this hateful atmosphere.
