Everyone, with the police the least likely to blame.

* Trump himself, for inciting hatred and acting as a far-right populist rat catcher
* The Trump supporters for buying the sh*t he spews out on a daily basis
* The left-leftist mob who always seem to have a problem if someone gets democratically elected and something isn't running exactly how "they wanted it" or how it "should be" in their politically correct, naive dream world.

The brave police officers are just the unlucky people in between who have to do their best to prevent worse things from happening ...

The protesters, of course. Why were they trying to stop TRUMP's rally?
By organizing a protest with so many participants at the venue of a previously announced rally, they assume all responsibility for the violent consequences.

This is 100% on Trump and his band of fascists. No question about it. Even the 3 other remaining Republican candidates agree.

I gave my justification why this mess is on protesters. Anybody posting TRUMP is to blame should give his/her explanation why that is the case.

Protesters have to take some blame but I voted Trump because this has gone beyond control & he has asked multiple time supporters to use violence. This is not a 1 off thing - his rallies are filled with violence & scuffle - People are being beaten up.

This has reached a point where people can't take it anymore.

Why is this not happening to Rubio or Cruz even though they are saying equally ridiculous things - Trump has become a fascist & is perceived as very dangerous!

I apportion the fault as follows:
Protestors - 89%
Trump supporters - 7%
Trump - 4%

The apologists for Trump's bigotry know no bounds. After today it should be pretty damn clear what the consequences of letting Trump ascend to power would be. Anyone who isn't terrified and disgusted is fooling themselves.

Only Trump is responsible for Trump's cowardice.

If he can't stand up to a partly hostile crowd, how will he stand up to Putin, or ISIS?

I've never been more embaressed as a Chicagoan, and I DO NOT support Trump, but the actions of the anarchist protesters do not represent what we stand for.  Shame on the terrorists.

I am terrified and disgusted by the lengths anti-Trumpists are willing to go to silence political discourse. Tonight was a sham and the protestors should be embaressed.

By Trump not only refusing to condemn the previous contained incidents of violence by his supporters at his events and outside of the events as well, but providing reasons why he understood it, he is tacitly endorsing other acts of violence. And, as we know, violence tends to escalate the larger the crowd where group mentality kicks in.

But who is causing the violence? Isn't it the protesters who cause the violence? Were TRUMP's rallies violent before the protesters started showing up?

Don't you think that people who would go to a political rally of a candidate they don't support to protest are actually committing an act of violence? You see, freedom of speech is limited by the freedom of speech of others. Otherwise, you can shut up anyone - just be violent enough. So, if you want to protest against TRUMP, have a protest rally so your voice can be heard. Don't go to his rally and prevent him from speaking.

The largely peaceful protesters against literal fascists are not terrorists. I have never been prouder to be a fellow Midwesterner for those who stood up against the fascist mob and said that fascism is not welcome in this country.

Stop justifying violence. It is unbecoming. It hurts your cause.

* Trump himself, for inciting hatred and acting as a far-right populist rat catcher

So Trump is to blame for violence by the people who hate him because he makes them hate him?  If you punch me in the face and tell me it was because you thought I was ugly, is it my fault for being ugly?  This is the exact same sort of argument that WBC uses to win court cases again and again and again, and all hyperbole aside, Trump is pretty damn far from the WBC.

The apologists for Trump's bigotry know no bounds. After today it should be pretty damn clear what the consequences of letting Trump ascend to power would be. Anyone who isn't terrified and disgusted is fooling themselves.

The consequences would be that people would protest him and start fights?  That says more about the protesters than it does about Trump.  If the KKK had gone around burning churches in 2008, should we have said "now we can see clearly the terrifying consequences of Obama's ascent to power"?

This is 100% on Trump and his band of fascists.

It's truly disturbing and terrifying that we have so many fascists on this board.

The largely peaceful protesters against literal fascists are not terrorists.

Please stop calling Trump and his supporters fascists in every post.  We get it, you got the memo that "racist" was getting worn out so it's time to switch to "fascist."  Stop repeating it in every post like a broken record.
