Michigan has terrible suburbs - there is absolutely nothing to do. You ought to try the east coast before you make such generalizations.

Melbourne has one of the lowest densities in the world in the outer suburbs; there is a massive urban sprawl. Damn 1/4 acre blocks.

Somewhere I saw that almost all of the top sprawling cities in the world are in the US. Atlanta has the worst sprawl of a major city.

I don't mind the suburbs but my area is more of a small city.
milk and Cereal where do you live.

Sterling Heights-anyone who has lived there can vouch for my generalizations.

Any place can be bad if it doesn't have your type of activity. You keep saying you don't like Sterling heights, but you haven't said what features or activies you are specifically lacking. That's why it's easy to write your comment off as an overgeneralization.

Well, Royal Oak isn't that bad, but I've found that safer areas are also the most dull in Michigan. Ann Arbor is an ideal place to live.

Where are the forests?  Sad  I refuse to live in any place that doesn't have a lot of green.

Depends on the suburb.  Where I live, everything is within walking distance.

Then you live in an urban suburb.

It sounds to me like Gabu lives in a place like Richfield or St. Louis Park, as opposed to a horrible place like Maple Grove or Lakeville.

I like oldish working class suburbs with terraced housing. Nice and quiet as a rule.
