Your views on women's issues seem to be based on what increases your chances of getting laid. Hell, most of your views seem to be based on that.

I'd put that in my signature if I didn't find it so horribly true.

Yes it is!  Some feminism borders on psychotic such as banning pornography, etc.  Surprised some of them aren't Republicans that want to ban porno and abortion.

yes, and they are in fact anti-women because they want to restrict women's rights and what she can do with her body. They also hold a terrible attitude toward all women that don't think exactly like they do. For example once on DU I made a post asking what was the most everyone had ever spent at a strip club. One of the "psycho" feminists bitched me out about how I was degrading women, I pointed out there was quite a few girls in the crowd, and that I ran into a guy who I had been in a class with last semester and he had brought his girlfriend, and both of them were having a great time. And she said all such girls have no self-esteem and must prove themselves to their exploitive boyfriends. Basically she was saying anyone woman who could possibly enjoy a strip club is some evil sell out.

However she did come under massive fire from this, including many women, including a bisexual one who loved strip clubs.

It's amazing how we can have such assholes even in our own party.  Yes, I've been called an "anti-woman sh**thead" and a "closet racist Repuke" on there.  And that's merely for questioning partial birth abortion and Affirmative Action.

fair enough.  I'm tired so I'll drop it.  not the part about this "sex-positive" schtick passing itself off as feminism, but the part about arguing with you and others over what is feminism.  still, if they really were about egalitarianism, then why not just drop the BS and call themselves Egalitarianists, or Gender-Equalists, or ANYTHING besides feminists (which puts many of us in mind of the man-hating bulldykes and bitter old dumped- or cheated-on bitches we all have known from time to time)?

Probably because a good chunk of the U.S. population has no idea what egalitarianism is. Wink

And a good chunk would have no idea what feminism is if they had not adopted such a name.

What's in a name? The fact is, they adopted a woman-centered name because it was women who historically needed to be pulled up. It's simply historical. Feminism is the doctrine of equality by gender.

Btw, I voted negative, but it's really a mixed bag. It's constructive when it speaks out against patriarchial religious nutcases who scream bloody murder every time a woman shows a little leg. It's counterproductive when it makes men see physical attributes only and be blind to the humanity and non-sexual contributions of women.

Very positive. Censorship harms women.

However, I disagree with the liberals on the board who say that anti-sex feminism is just as bad as the religious right. The effects may be the same, but their values are very different.
