Other than the Supreme Court, and 2 Circuit courts (I think)?  The SEC just swung to the GOP.

The Supreme Court isn't controlled by Democrats. Republican appointees are the majority.

7-2. However, the political alliances on the Supreme Court are more like 5-4.
Seriously though, if you claim the Supreme Court is controlled by the Democrats, you might just as well claim Congress is controlled by the Democrats. And the GOP is close to being controlled by the Democrats.

The Supreme Court consistently takes liberal positions, on everything from sodomy to infringements upon free speech. Republican appointees are meaningless. The biggest liberal on the court was appointed by Gerald Ford.

The SCOTUS has 5 highly partisan Republicans, 2 reasonable Republicans, and only 2 Democrats. Definitely not a Democratic body.

Then why does it virtually always take a liberal position?

Yeah, appointing Bush President was a very liberal position.

It doesn't. Just because they'e not all conservative activist judges doesn't mean they're liberal.

You're being delusional.

They aren't conservative activists, but they are liberal activists, as seen by their rulings on Campaign Finance Reform, sodomy laws, abortion, religion, and substantive due process.
