This is ridiculous. First of all, Perry? Coburn? Really? The establishment Republicans' last hope at a third party anti-Trump was Bloomberg.

Bloomberg is center-left. He's basically a liberal Democrat with the exception of a few economic issues. He would've stolen a lot more votes from Hillary than Trump.

Also, Rick Perry joined Cruz on the campaign trail in Arizona this week, and it resulted in this picture:

Now there's an idea that I can get behind.

Rick Perry is actually one of my favorite recent Governors.  I would vote for him if he was over a Nader-like percentage in polls in a Clinton-Trump-Perry election.

I would be supportive of a Tom Coburn run.

Having Tom Coburn in a presidential debate would be so, so sweet.

Some Republicans really want Hillary being elected. Ok, she's better than any establishment Republican. If the GOP want to win, they have to nominate TRUMP.

But some of them don't want to win with Trump.  They don't want Trumpism to take over the party, so if Trump is the nominee, they'd be perfectly happy to see him lose.

I would say that Rubio/Romney or Rubio/Gardner would be the more likely third party ticket against Clinton and Trump.

Looks like this issue is settled then, the arbiter of liberalism has spoken!

I'd like to see a Coburn run. I don't agree with him ideologically, but he always struck me as a good, principled guy. I remember when he defended Nancy Pelosi to an angry conservative crowd.

Coburn may be a bit old but he's a decent guy-he did a lot of work on HIV, and has sponsored lots of good legislation on the issue. Being from the Midwest he's a good counter balance to Trump

I'm no great fan of Coburn, but, by the low standards of Oklahoma, he's one of our better Senators in recent history. That being said, he would be a flop of a Presidential candidate - he's one of the most right-wing Republicans out there. He endorsed Alan Keyes for President in 2000. He would not capture a significant chunk of the anti-Trump vote.
