Ok I said I wanted to do something about conservation in the Mideast when I got elected so I guess it's about time to do it.

I. 1,000 additional acres of land shall be designated by the Governor to be added to available National Parks in each state (besides DC) or will be made into a protected area if that region has no National Parks throughout the Mideast.

I'll sign it here to so as not to waste another post.

Could do with a few more details, but anyway - seven more signatures and on the ballot it goes.

Well what details do you think? I'll add them to it if they're good. Smiley

What happens if the land is privately owned?  This bill says I can just designate any land I want.  Does the land have to be contiguous with the available Parks?

Well of course the land can't be owned by anybody and just be added. Any land that's near the national parks is what I meant or it could be made protected if there isn't an area like that by the national park.

I don't mean to split hairs about it, but it ought to be explicitly stated.

Send me a PM with how you'd like it to be if you would.

It's not really my job to do that.  But don't worry, as long as you bring those points into it somehow, I'm sure it'll be fine. Smiley

What do you think about this:

I. 1,000 additional acres of non-private land shall be designated by the Governor to be added to available National Parks in each state (besides DC) or if there aren't any National Parks, the area shall be designated protected.
II. If the area around a National Park is privately owned the land shall be taken from any area around the state in question and be deemed protected.

One more sig, and this becomes probably the fastest initiative to gain ballot access so far!

That'll do it.  The amended version of this initiative will go on the ballot for the weekend of the 17th-19th.
