I've tried to put as many options in I could think of, including extreme views and a mixed postion.

What say you?

Too early to tell, I'd say.  The general opinion of a president generally changes once we get a more comprehensive, historical view of the full effects of that president's policies.

Before Bush became President, I had the feeling that he'd be the worst President we ever had. Despite my amazing low expectations, he's been a worse President than I thought. Obviously option 7.

So far he hasn't really done anything to make me stop and think, "this guy is a really great President".  He had it for a little while after 9/11, but soon lost it again.  I still can't shake off the image of him being a clueless frat-boy who loafed his way to the White House.

A poor president like Grant. Why the Republicans adore him, I'll never know.

jfern I have a few question for you. First how old are you? I want to know this so I can see if President Bush is the first real President that you have known when you are old enough to figure out and understand politics. Second question is what Presidents have you lived under since age 14?

Easily the worst president we've had.  No question.

The most incompetent and evil president by far.

I remember Clinton and Bush senior being President fairly well. I vaugely remember Reagan. I'm not sure how any of this matters, since the other really bad Presidents were from long ago: Buchanan, Coolidge.

At least 1/4 of the country would agree with me.

Tell me how he's helped this country? How are the people in this country better off?

Your blind loyalty to your God Bush is truly pathetic.

In context, the worst.  Out of context, only one of the worst.

Good point.  I guess we should be thankful in a way.

I don't understand why Democrats hate Coolidge.

In a lot of ways, he was a supply-sider before his time.

Once again, nutjob Scoonie proves he's a joke.

No thats his opinion. He has a right to have one. I agree with everything Scoonie said. If we were joking we'd have chosen the last choice, which no one has yet.

Option 7: (In Comic Book Guy Voice) "Worst President......Ever"

Actually he's only the second worse. Regan was the worst ever, God how I hate him.

I've felt better about Bush the II since we learned from those secret tapes his friend recorded (I forget the guy's name, they were released earlier this year) that he isn't as conservative as he appears. He is only throwing red meat to the un-American Christian Right. Still, the damage he is causing to our institutions is real, so we should still resist any major changes he tries to make.

In many ways, a great president like Reagan.  And in some ways, a truely bad president like FDR.

I think it is too early to tell.  He, at this point, will rank better than Clinton, his father, Ford, way better than Johnson.  He may be judged better than Truman; certainly, he's done better than Truman, when comparing how Turman was regarded while in office.
