Hillary Clinton is not winning Vermont. Haven't you heard ProgressiveCanadian? No Bernie voters will support her. It's solid Stein country.

I just have a very hard time seeing Utah flipping blue. Even in the LBJ landslide of 1964, it was Johnson's weakest win. He only beat Goldwater by about 5,000 votes out of about 292,000 votes between them; and he got 61.1% nationally.

If she does win UT, it won't really matter, as she would have won 40-45 states ahead of UT.

But could, she win UT against Trump - yes.  Against Cruz or Kasich - no.

If the election isn't going well for Drumpf, I could see the Mormons kind of en masse decide "Why vote for a loser we hate anyway?"

You're thinking of Idaho.

Utah poll shows Bernie ahead = Bernie will win Utah!
Utah poll shows Hillary ahead = She has no chance!

lmao

Anyway guys, the Utah stuff has been fun for a few days, but I think it's time to chill out. Chances are Trump will be leading by double digits by the time the RNC is over.

Neither Hillary nor Bernie will win Utah.

The Republicans would sure love us to throw GE resources into here, though.

If it's Clinton vs. Trump, I would not be surprised to see a third party carry Utah.

There's no way it's a "tipping point state", close to the national popular vote. However, I think in a landslide loss, which Trump is probably unusually capable of achieving, it would be quite conceivable. I definitely think it'd vote Democratic before MS, AL and likely a few others.

A 48-37 lead is a little different than a 38-36 lead.

She can, but it's unlikely.

And I don't think she's dumb enough to waste a lot of money there unless the polls consistently show it close.

Who knows...maybe the Mormon leaders will publicly come out against Trump and we'll see some weird monolithic shift.

Clearly you're new to this if you think one general election poll this early out is indicative of Clinton having a chance in Utah.

I said she would in December. I was mocked and called a troll. Who's laughing now?
NC: Trump by 7
FL: Trump by 5
CO: Trump by 4
NH: Trump by 2
OH: Trump by 2
IA: Trump Clinton by .5
VA: Trump Clinton by 1
UT: Clinton by 1
NV: Clinton by 7
WI: Clinton by 10

Trump could also lose Arizona in this scenario. I don't feel comfortable making a pick there right now.

Note: I no longer think Trump will win nh and probably not Co. PA would be right in line with Utah still.

If Sanders was to be the nominee against Trump, Utah could turn blue. New Poll came yesterday Sanders winning 11% vs Trump with Clinton winning 2% against Trump (with MOE). So polls may not matter & like the GOP will do much better, but surely Sanders (who has little chance of being the nominee) has a good chance of winning Utah if Trump is the contender.

I just took a look at the 1992 general election results.
Utah was the only state where Bill came third, while Arkansas and West Virginia were his best states.
If Hillary wins Utah while losing her husband's home state and West Virginia (while again winning the real Virginia, which was out of reach for Bill back then) it would be so ironic and so indescribable...
