How come the Idaho Democratic caucus delivered the best result for Obama, giving him almost 80% of the vote?
One would think Hawaii, Mississippi, Illinois or D.C. should have been his best states.
But no, it was Idaho.
Was it just the Mountain West anti-Clinton, anti-government attitude that saw him as the less of evils?

I think so. That was at a time when many people thought Clinton would be the nominee.

1. It was a caucus.
2. Obama held an event in Boise that drew like 10,000 people (which I guess is good for the handful of Democrats in Idaho). I think it was here where he said, "They told me there weren't any Democrats in Idaho."
3. Mormons seem to have a problem with women in positions of authority.
4. Clinton campaign probably saw the writing on the wall and wasted little resources in a caucus state that only had 18-21 delegates up for grabs. I think it was 18.
