Let's face it, Clinton is the odds-on favorite to become our next President, Senate control could easily go to the Dems, and the geography of votes is so volatile that she could even have a Democratic House of Representatives to work with.

This trifecta would be highly aware of the time limit on their hegemony, with no reason to think 2018 wouldn't look like 2010 or 2014.

What laws would they pass in the meantime?

I think a Voting Rights Act to replace what was overturned by the conservative majority on SCOTUS and to guarantee a right to vote to citizens is a very likely early law.

Immigration reform, Employment Non-Discrimination Act, Employee Free Choice Act, infrastructure bank, further reforms to shore up Obamacare, allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, re-authorization of Voting Rights Act, and sentencing reform.

I am not saying all of them are possible within the space of two years, but any of them could be.

It's hard to say. If Clinton has learned one lesson from the Obama administration, it's to not blow all of your political capital on one controversial initiative. This is why she attacks Sanders' health care plan with that 'starting another contentious debate' line and why any comprehensive legislation is probably off the table from day one.

The Hillary administration would probably try to make small changes in several areas and run on the incremental progress in the 2018 midterms, whether that is a winning strategy or not is anyone's guess.

I think if Dems have a 52 or 53 seat majority,  Donnelly, McCaskill and Tester can pull out close elections. 2010  & 2014 are probably over with.

Would Schumer nuke the filibuster? I think he will have to.

They probably won't, but the filibuster in it's current form should be limited to just legislation and in standing/talking style only.

For that matter, what does he even mean by 'secular'? Last I checked, all the justices are either Jewish or Catholic.

Immigration reform, Employment Non-Discrimination Act, Employee Free Choice Act, infrastructure bank, further reforms to shore up Obamacare, allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, re-authorization of Voting Rights Act, and sentencing reform.

These, plus some kind of climate bill, a minimum wage hike, a campaign finance bill (with or w/out a Citizens United ruling), two free years of community college, universal pre-k, a tax hike on those making more than ~$100k/year, further investments in renewable energy, and some kind of tax reform to "broaden the base and lower rates" (though this could also happen with a Republican Congress). Of these, the climate bill is the major thing I could see a Dem Congress pursuing.

I doubt immigration reform passes. It hasn't in thirty years.

Expect a foreign policy-focused Clinton Presidency and maybe some minimum wage raise to $8.00 or $8.75. Any higher would destroy the poor states' employment, which may hurt GOP incumbent governors there but would be a personally terrible thing to do.

Immigration Reform is not gonna pass  - O Chance - It may get worse!

Min Wage has not been raised in like 6-7 odd years or so. Very little chance of a major raise. Obama barely could raise it by 1$ & Clinton who is taking all this money from Wallmart will raise it to 10.1$! Are you kidding me? When O'Malley demanded a 15$ Wage with Clinton over several years Clinton protested in a Dem Debate & said 12$ is enough

This is the following I could see passing -

Social Security
Lifting the Cap on Taxable income to save Social Security (Bernie's plan) - Tell the GOP it will bankrupt & get a deal to protect it

Family & Paid medical leave
- Maybe there is a chance if the entire Dem base fights very hard for it. There is already a bill by Dems

New War on Syria
- Guaranteed Outcome & more mass killing due to Hillary Clinton's love for bloodshed (GOP would love to pass this)

Very Small Minimum Wage increase in 4 years - Predicting 7.25 to 8$ just before 2020 elections

If Clinton can get Leaves, protect Social Security & increase the minimum wage a bit, it will be somewhat of a boost to the progressive wing!

It's already passed one chamber of Congress.

Probably a sweeping new gun control bill. That seems to be a big issue for the Clinton campaign.

Secular means you support a separation of church and state. Which isn't an atheist-only belief, considering it's the most common interpretation of the 1st amendment.

But what does that have to do with Citizens United?

Nothing lol. Even at his peak, OC still suffers from Broken English Syndrome, which inevitably results in completely irrelevant words being tossed into sentences at almost random positions.

What are you smoking? Are you high?

If they could not pass it then, in today with Trump & Cruz calling immigrants rapists, you expect it to pass. Newsflash - The GOP voter is supporting it, the GOP party will be finished if this thing passes!

At least one new war before 2018. Probably ground troops in Syria or proxy Iran.
Increased defense spending budget/cuts to SS/Medicare to pay for it.
Gun control measure to make illegal one specific clip size and brand, ie nothing.
Probably some kind of "compromise" Right to Work legislation.
And should it come to it, a second Wall Street bailout for a future econ slump.

I was referring to a Dem majority, not a religious belief, anyways Citizens United will be overturned

But what does that have to do with Citizens United?
