[shameless gloat]

A few rounds into the game, I posted the following in the original Presidential survivor thread:

Any prediction on the ultimate winner of this thing?
I think Teddy Roosevelt actually has a good shot, given his widespread appeal among Dems, Republicans, and Independents.

Two days later, in response to some other predictions, I posted this:

Which is why I will stick with my pick for TR to win.  Although I think Jefferson and Truman are also both good picks.

In the words of mypalfish, I will now accept my accolades.

I also have to admit that the predictions of James42 and Jake were both very good.

I can't unlock the thread to allow quoting it directly, for some reason.

Give mad props to James42 for naming Washington, Jefferson, TR and Ike as contenders.  They all made the top five!  I don't think anyone else gave Ike a chance.

I had the feeling he'd make top 5, since he's a Republican that does not bring out negative feelings from Democrats.

Good calls...sorry I missed your post in the discussion thread.

I guess we'll see who comes out ahead tomorrow.

Ahem!

For the record, here's my prediction for the final 5: Harry Truman, Teddy Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and Dwight Eisenhower.

Didn't Washington finish #6?  Still very good predictions.

Yes Sad. It pissed me off, because it kept my prediction from being exact. Ah, well, I got the other four right.

My #1 prediction was TR and I am sticking to that. He is one I wanted to win all along.

If only the votes in round 37 had been counted correctly it very well could have been exact!

EDIT: In the original post I said that in the '6 questions' thread I predicted TR would win. Upon looking at the thread again I see that I actually predicted Truman, darn it. What do you think, is a 10 vote lead impossible to overcome? Tongue

I'm going to go with yes, it is impossible to overcome at this point.
