Jerry Brown is a progressive hero.
But just for the History, what the hell was he thinking back in 1992 when he advocated a flat tax?

I wish Jerry Brown would be ten years younger and run for president! He's the best governor in the country by a mile.

Unless those referenda have the exact same provisions, this won't preempt them. It may get their sponsors to withdraw them, but the issue could still be on the ballot.

Good for them.  The rest of us can see how it goes.  Seems too high to me, but it's not my problem.

Democrats were going through a rough introspective period in the 90s Sad

I'll be intrigued to see how this works. I still think a regionally tiered approach like the one Oregon just introduced is the best approach, since this $15 Now campaign has always struck me as a response to the skyrocketing cost of living in major cities. I personally think 15 is way too high for rural areas

But the Republicans assure me that a $15 min wage will make businesses go under and crash the economy!

If probably would in places outside New York City and coastal California.

Well the coming decade should offer a few good pieces of literature on the effectiveness of minimum wage laws.

The government should turn like Indiana or somewhere into a laboratory, by setting different counties with different minimum wage laws and tracking what happens.

No objections here. Then again, Sam Brownback tried the same thing...

indiana would be better suited as a laboratory for examining the effects of atomic fallout, but ok
