Thoughts?

Paul would probably be more isolationist and better on some issues of civil liberties yet at the same time he'd be more extreme in attacking the welfare state, going back to the gold standard and perhaps protecting the "freedom" to discriminate (in employment, housing, healthcare etc.)  And although he's a "government off our backs" libertarian, he seems more religious right-friendly than Trump.

One of these two would not tear the guts out of the U.S. Government because Libertarian goblins tell him to do so.

I'd take the guts of the government being torn out over the guts of the constitution being turned out and I say that as a Socialist.

I doubt it. Any attempt to legitimately repeal the social safety net would meet with massive resistance from the public and in Washington, while Paul would be restrained by his strict-constructionist interpretation of the presidency. He'd probably end up falling on his own sword.

Trump is the worst primary candidate, in either party, in my lifetime. Paul is a decent man with a coherent ideology that is out of step with mainstream political thought and entirely infeasible in our political climate. Trump is an easy answer to this question.

That's another reason why I'm picking Trump. Paul is dedicated to and believes in his wacky nonsense, Trump is a person who is malleable and potentially sneak in some good things in the midsts of his awfulness.

And both are equally racist. Take that as you will.

Paul would veto almost every single bill that came out of Congress on principle.  Trump would "make deals," for better or for worse.

As I am not someone who wants to destroy the federal govt, Trump, though I'd feel way better with Paul at the trigger.

And I wish you were still a fellow libertarian Max.

For the one who thinks Ron Paul is racist need to have a chat with several Texas chapters of the NAACP.

Trump is a total wildcard.  My gut says he'll be terrible.  Paul would've really started to turn things around. I think Bernie would too, now, at least socially.

Trump is the worst thing that could happen to our country, Paul is the best.

I prefer Trump to Clinton and some of the religious right (the ones like Santorum that don't pretend to care about the Constitution, although fortunately none of those ilk are electable, so it's moot), and me and Paul have a few nuanced differences, but basically this.
