It's going to be Cruz, without a shadow of a doubt.

She's pretending to be a woman of the people. Anywho, I thought Walker endorsed Cruz like a week ago?

People mocking this as a non-news story forget just how pro-walker republican voters are in the milwaukee suburbs and in fox valley.

I think cruz will pull 60% out of the big three southern counties, making it impossible for trump to win by getting hillbillies in the northern part of the state to come out in record numbers.

Trump winning WI despite getting his gonads pushed in in the SE suburbs would defy 80 years of republican primary elections in wisconsin.

This endorsement might actually backfire on Cruz. Walker has turned his back on a lot of his own constituents and is generally disliked in the state.

I disagree, because many of the people that dislike walker still view him as the leader of the GOP in their state- and they will listen to him when he talks to them about this ever-so-important election. What this endorsement will do is show to all kasich supporters that they should tactically vote for the best alternative to trump in their state, "best" meaning best chance to defeat him.

Walker will, tomorrow, say something like "a vote for kasich is a vote against kasich because it destroys the fine ohio governor's chances of getting nominated at the convention. Please, for love of party, vote to defeat the manhattan orangutan. "

You say he is generally disliked in the state is that amongst all Wisconsinites or just the republican/conservative base.

Will his endorsement really sway that many voters? Endorsements are overrated.

Probably not, tbf, but it'll provide Cruz with some nice positive media in a must-win state for him. Might persuade some who are deciding between Kasich and Cruz. Doubt it'll cost trump many votes, but then as we've seen many times the difference between his floor and his ceiling is very small.

Perfect, gives Trump the opportunity to tie Walker to Cruz and attack Walker, who's a big, fat, easy target.

Walker is unpopular overall, but he's probably still very popular among Republican primary voters.

Walker is actually pretty well liked by Conservatives, and not necessarily the folks naturally in Cruz's domain - fiscal conservatives.

I would love to see him on Cruz's ticket and Walker could help him blow Trump out in Wisconsin.

This endorsement might actually backfire on Cruz. Walker has turned his back on a lot of his own constituents and is generally disliked in the state.

About 45% of Wisconsin voters are loyal, entrenched Democrats, mostly of the labor variety, and hate Walker with all their mind, heart, and soul.

Wisconsin conservatives hate the Wisconsin labor faction and think they are single-handedly responsible for destroying the state's economy.  To them, Scott Walker is their hero and savior.

As far as rallying the GOP vote, a Walker endorsement is HUGE.

Will his endorsement really sway that many voters? Endorsements are overrated.

I remember people saying that Jeanne Shaheen's endorsement would propel Clinton to victory in New Hampshire.

Anyway, I think that Walker's endorsement might get a few Kasich voters to switch to Cruz, but that's about it. People who are voting for Trump are already aware that established politicians don't like him.

Cruz will get the endorsement and Wisconsin is a winner take all state. Cruz needs this one to get a contested convention where he will probably end up with the nomination.

18-year resident of the Fox Valley here.  For wealthy GB/Appleton Republicans, Walker is their man, and they may be swung to Cruz.  For your paper mill guy, truck driver, or food processing factory worker, which is most of the urban population?  Not all that keen on Walker, and very receptive to Trump's populist message.

But yes, Cruz definitely has a huge advantage, and Walker's endorsement would solidify that.

(Northern hillbillies?  Really?  The northwoods and northwest farm country are a complex mix of farmer-labor-progressive and an influx of conservative retirees, tourism, and the entrepreneurs who support both.)
