Forget Jones, it's Linda Sarsour and Piven who have me laughing.

Linda Sarsour's appearance really discredits the whole event

What's wrong with Sarsour and Piven.

Nothing. I don't know too much about Piven, but Sarsour is just a theologically conservative, politically progressive Palestinian-rights activist that the right-wing and some on the left dislike for her supposed hypocrisy resulting from her religious identity.

Jerry Brown doesn’t rule out another presidential run (sort of):

Meanwhile, Seth Moulton asked about 2020:

At some point, we're gonna have to move past the idea that only Senators can run for President. Yes, it makes sense given how large the country is and the difference in fundraising/campaigning required for each job, but the Democrat bench would be infinitely better if we had Moulton, Ruben Gallego, Joe Kennedy and other talented backbenchers also in the mix

I think the problem isn't that they're House members (though that inherently will bring national profile and cash challenges in running for President) but that they have only been in office for a few years. Someone like Richard Gephardt or with an equivalent national profile wouldn't have as much of a problem.

Bernie Sanders is, to borrow a phrase, more concept than reality. I can't imagine him running a successful general election campaign.

OK, here are the details on Kasich’s NH return:

http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2017/03/kasich_to_return_to_new_hampsh.html

Here’s a list of some upcoming events with some 2020 relevance:

Mar. 31: Sanders and Warren make joint appearance in Boston
Apr. 8: O’Malley trip to South Carolina
Apr. 18: Warren’s book comes out, and she begins her book tour
Apr. 25: Kasich’s book comes out, and he begins his book tour (including Apr. 27 stop in NH)
Apr. 30: McIntyre-Shaheen fundraising dinner in NH (which may draw one or more 2020 Dems to attend, though none are scheduled to do so yet)
May 16: Center for American Progress’s “Ideas Conference” in DC, which will include speeches by Booker, Bullock, Garcetti, Gillibrand, Harris, Murphy, and Warren (and probably others too)
May 30: Franken’s book comes out, and he begins his book tour
June 9-11: “People’s Summit” in Chicago, which will include speeches by Sanders and Gabbard, among others.

Hm, can't seem to find anything about Kasich's book tour. Source?

His trip to New Hampshire is mentioned upthread here:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=233345.msg5591174#msg5591174

Otherwise, I don’t know about any specific destinations, but everyone who comes out with a book does a book tour, so I’m assuming he’s doing something.  Some more info in this new story here, which also talks about the question of whether Kasich is interested in another presidential run.  Charlie Black says he thinks Kasich won’t challenge Trump, but might still run in 2020 in the unlikely event that Trump doesn’t run for reelection:

Yeah my blood pressure spiked about 100 points when I read that line buried at the end. Even if you accept the (absolutely ridiculous) assertion that Bernie hasn't "stepped up," then at the bare minimum maybe the leader of the party should be oh, I don't know, maybe Perez who actually is supposed to be the substantive leader of the party? Not HRC the two-time failed candidate? I don't recall Kerry operatives in '04 trying to line their guy back up again because Howard Dean and John Edwards didn't "step up."

Looks like we may have to add a new name to the 2020 watch list.  Russ Feingold spoke at a fundraising dinner for Scott County (Iowa) Democrats on Saturday night:

Ah, OK.  He's speaking at the McIntyre-Shaheen fundraising dinner.  I had asked whether any of the potential 2020 candidates might speak at that, but wasn't expecting it to be Biden.  I guess I have to move Biden up a few spots on my "likelihood to run" list.

He does seem to be more active recently. By the way, could you post this list? You're very updated about these 2020 tea leaves, so your assumption could be one of the best we can get at this point.

Gillibrand tweeted out this video of her speaking at what appears to be a national conference for Planned Parenthood this year:

https://twitter.com/SenGillibrand/status/848579379999453184

I don’t know exactly what the event was, or when it was held, but that’s definitely Gillibrand speaking, and the banners in the background suggest a conference for Planned Parenthood being held in 2017.

Jeff Merkley's national political profile went up, holding the Senate floor in opposition to the Gorsuch Supreme Court nomination...
