Not really. Trump was a grossly unqualified candidate and many voted for her to put country before party but voted Republican down ballot to make sure she had strong opposition in Congress. She needs to stay out of this.

Yeah, I personally don't know any down-ballot Republican here who was happy at all to vote for her. It was an anti-Trump vote being cast by loyal Republicans.

Warren raised $3.45 Million last quarter, bringing her COH to $11.03 Million. She'll probably end with a bunch of leftover money...I wonder what she might use it for...

To be fair it totally could go into a Leadership PAC if she wants to pursue the 'Senate Influence' track for the rest of her career.

Tim Ryan visited both Iowa and South Carolina last month.  Now he’s got an August trip to New Hampshire on his schedule.  Plus, he did an interview with New Hampshire TV station WMUR yesterday:

The story also notes that (like prospective 2020 candidates Booker, Gillibrand, and Klobuchar) Ryan campaigned in New Hampshire for Clinton ahead of the NH primary last year.

Here’s this week’s #2020Vision column:

http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/14/politics/2020-vision-democratic-tech-catch-up/index.html

As in past weeks, most of the stuff mentioned there has already been mentioned on this board, if not this very thread.  They do mention Biden’s trip to Capitol Hill though:

Also mentioned: This weekend is the National Governors Association summer meeting in Rhode Island, so a number of potential 2020 candidates will be in attendance (e.g., Bullock, Hickenlooper, McAuliffe):

Looks like Cuomo and Kasich are skipping though.

I know I'm behind a day ln this, but Tim Ryan really seems serious about running. He never really denied it and said that running against Pelosi really helped him get out there.

Sunday morning talk show watch: Not sure if Warner's recent walkback of his previous Shermanesque denial means he's actually thinking about running, but he is on three different Sunday news shows tomorrow:

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_NEWS_SHOWS?SITE=AP

Also, Rand Paul, who I suppose might conceivably run in 2020, is on both Face the Nation and Fox News Sunday.

Word in my circles is that Rand Paul is considering a challenge to Trump from the right on healthcare and that the chances of him doing so will significantly increase if the Senate bill passes without his vote.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but by "challenge to Trump...on healthcare," do you mean being more vocal against Trump to fight the bill or running a full-fledged campaign against him in 2020?

this guy's conclusion from the poll is wrong on so many levels...first of all the question was "which one of these democrats has the best chance of beating trump", not "how many of these democrats can beat trump". and second, "none of the above" means none of the listed people, not no democrat
the correct conclusion is that 50% of the respondents think at least one of those listed democrats can win

I've gone into further detail with this in my TL, but I believe that Harris is uniquely situated to bypass the Sanders/Clinton dynamic that may emerge for others like Warren and Clinton-type candidates.

Only further proof that the only reason people go to Iowa is when they've lost a bet.
