Ewwwwwww.

There's only one mayor I support for president, and he's about 3,000 miles west of that and slow jamming every time the 101 closes down. (I fully acknowledge the fact that even if he does run, I may be one of his only supporters.)

Bill de Blasio is in way over his head if he thinks he's the heir to the Sanders fortune.

Yeah, we're not really looking for some former Hillary campaign manager who went to Iowa last year to campaign for her in the Presidential primary.

Hickenlooper's running, and will get 4% of the vote in Iowa.

That actually wouldn't be that bad, considering how the votes are counted in Iowa and how many people will be running.

As that other thread said, the 2020 Democratic primaries are going to be such a sh**tshow. The Bernie vs. Kamala Harris supporter fight is already getting ugly.

I don't have a source for this, but Bernie will have a rally next Monday with Chuck Jones (The union leader who Trump attacked) in downtown Indy!

Edit: I'm going and will let everyone know if anything from 2020 is mentioned.

If Bernie's running, that means Warren will probably stay out. If she runs, it increases the chances of Booker/Harris/Gillibrand being the nominee.

Hopefully neither Warren nor Bernard will run. As of now, Warren declined to run, although that may change. I think Warren may not run if Kamala does, but support her colleague from California instead, because it's obvious that Harris is the stronger general election candidate.

Candidates rarely ever opt out of the race just because they think someone else would be a better general election candidate.  Rather, they opt out of the race only if they don't think they have a very good chance of winning the nomination.

I'd vote for Kasich in the primary, and possibly in the general too in the extremely unlikely event that he manages to primary Trump. at the very least, I think Kasich getting even ~20% of the vote in a primary against Trump would basically mean he's almost certain to lose the general election. look at Buchanan '92 or Kennedy '80.

I just don't think it works like that anymore.  I'll just copy and paste what I wrote about this in another thread with minor modification, since the same applies here:

Trump is unpopular among GOP elites, he always has been, and that's unlikely to change between now and 2020, whether he gets a primary challenge or not.  Last year, fully a fifth of GOP Senators wouldn't even endorse him in the general election, yet it seems not to have mattered, as he won anyway.  For all we know, Trump could spin an unsuccessful primary challenge as more evidence that he's put a scare in "the establishment", and voters in the general election will largely brush it off, just like they brushed off the fact that party elites weren't united behind him last time.

0 chance that Warren endorses Harris. Warren & Bernie have been friends for years before her Senate term. She went to Vermont & did townhalls with Bernie years before her Senate candidacy. She is the natural VP for Bernie, her base is massively pro-Bernie & if Bernie is the President, he will likely be a 1 term President & Warren could be the next President. At anytime, Bernie could step down & Warren could step over.

Harris apart form being a poor candidate represents the same financial elite neo liberal wing whom Warren detests. And he likes Bernie & is the only sitting Senator to appear in the Bernie Sanders show & do a rally hosted by Our-Revolution after the GE.

If she is not endorsing Bernie, she is not endorsing anyone. She didn't endorse Hillary till it was over despite all the pressure.

Kasich is not winning the Primary. He will win OH & a couple of other states at best. He is not beating an incumbent President.

This is the same thing people did for the Ohio primary last year & it was a waste of time & Trump still won.

Bernie Sanders to return to N.H., stoking speculation he might run again

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont will return to New Hampshire over Labor Day weekend to speak at a pair of events, continuing to stoke speculation that he could run a second time for president in 2020.
