That guy from Pet Shop Boys who plays two notes over and over and stares blankly into the crowd.

In the rock era my pick is Rick Wakeman, though I'd add a shout out to Keith Emerson as well who died earlier this month suffering from depression. Both were classically trained and wove classical elements into their rock performances and were giants in bringing synthesizer sounds to rock.

I've heard Chick in concert a couple of times, once in the 70's and again a few years ago. I really enjoyed his performances, but I consider him a jazz pianist. Then again the OP didn't exclude jazz though the poll suggested rock keyboardists.

Did you hear him play with Return to Forever in the 70s?

I don't recall it being the whole RTF band. It was after his solo release My Spanish Heart. The concert a few years ago was a duet with Bela Fleck.
