Seems like it.  No female senator has ever died in office.  The only ones with longer terms than Feinstein are Barbara Mikulski and Margaret Chase Smith.

I like her, but in 2018, it should be enough. She'll be 85 by then and over 25 years in the Senate. A fresh new face would be nice. I can't already wait for Kamala Harris to represent CA in DC next year.


Strom Thurmond made it till 100.

Really hope she doesn't. Being the first female lifer would be cool and all, but the bottleneck's bad enough going into 2018. Given the open primary, she could potentially get taken down by another Democrat regardless.
