I'm genuinely not clear on what your point is. A quid pro quo is not a gift. It is a transaction. Why should what is effectively buying the naming rights to a law school qualify as a charitable donation? Because without it the building wouldn't have been built (or would have taken a lot of money from some place else that, in theory, needs it).
